Last month, many teachers signed up to access ZEP resources on the Red Scare.
Amidst hate speech from the White House & accusations that educators are “indoctrinating” students, many seek lessons to teach about McCarthyism and its modern echoes.

my edgy COVID take is that people should mask up.
And for the record, I still mask in supermarkets, so this person whom I read as queer couldn’t even see my whole face. But I guess they saw enough that they liked lol 😆
Shiba inu point of view (from cargo bike 😄) of Atlanta streets alive this past weekend
A few thoughts:
🛒 A supermarket is among the worst places to hit on me. They’re crowded and I get overwhelmed, so I just want to get in and out.
🛒 Wow, this sort of thing still happens in supermarkets?
🛒 I honestly felt kind of special being singled out in that way. Maybe it’s how I carry myself 🤷🏾♀️
The other day, I was food shopping after work at a busy supermarket when—seemingly out of nowhere—a woman materialized in front of me and invited me to her poetry reading. It actually dawned on me in that moment that I was probably being hit on. I took the flyer she gave me and kept shopping. #NYC
I’m listening to this tape of a panel of gay and lesbian therapists from the 1970s and the gay men are all obsessed with accidentally having sex with their clients in bathhouses and the lesbians are all obsessed with what happens if they run into their clients at poetry readings

Shreveport. What words are there for something like this. I am trying to tally the number of Black women and children shot at or killed in the last week because a man couldn’t handle that his intimate access to the woman was being ended. It’s too many.
Heartbreaking Sunday morning in Shreveport, Louisiana Youngest victim was just 18 months old A domestic dispute on W. 79th Street turned into a mass shooting this morning, leaving 10 people shot and 8 children dead. The shooter has been identified as Shamar Elkins. The victims include 8 juvenile children and two women. Elkins killed his OWN children and his ex's sister's children, then shot both his ex-girlfriend and her sister in the head. Those two women are currently the only survivors. Witnesses at the scene say Elkins put a baby on the roof of the house and chased a 9-year-old child down the street, shooting him in the head while he tried to flee. FOLLOW Jade Charde' for more. After the shooting, Elkins carjacked a vehicle and led police on a high-speed chase into Bossier City where officers caught him on Brompton Lane and ended his life, brining the total body count to 11. Praying those two ladies pull through, sending my condolences to any and everybody affected by this devastating loss.
i’m truly at a loss for words 😔 those babies…
"passport bros" are not at all new and they are not "frustrated with modern dating" they just want women who are completely subservient to them and have zero power in their own lives
Like, NO we don't have to tolerate Nazi tattoos and trust the people who have them at the bare fucking minimum
She can go, too!
Got this at @labornotes.bsky.social conference to remind myself of this

I believe the first film I watched where I was conscious of watching Meryl Streep was Adaptation (2002); saw Manhattan (1979) around that same time. In theaters, I saw The Devil Wears Prada (2006). On Criterion a couple years ago, I saw Kramer vs. Kramer (1979). Living legend. 🎞️ #movies
In childhood, I first became aware of Meryl Streep in the film Sophie's Choice (1982), which I wasn't allowed to watch (maybe that's why it stands out) but was much talked about at the time. My next early recollection of her was in Out of Africa (1985), which I also haven't seen. #80s #movies
