The young generation of goths I've encountered might even seem more political than many of the old-school goths. But my perception might be skewed, as most of the younger goths in Leipzig go to the goth parties in the traditional leftist places.

Capitalism corrupts it all, of course. I never was a huge fan of the common ground goths shared, though, as just "being an outcast" didn't translate into any political ambition, which was always important for me. There always was a big focus on identity and aesthetics.

Why weird? I'd say being sad but still dancing seems like an appropriate mood right now. 😞🎵
