I had an excellent time at Summer Games Done Quick. I contributed my first prize, finished a different quilt that I've been working on for ages, and got to enjoy Alli doing magic around the event. Can't wait for AGDQ to do it all again! Love this community, y'all are fucking awesome. ❤️

I've decided to call it "Raising Spirits", because things have been pretty bleak in my life for the last few months but I have to believe that things will eventually look up. It's dark now but the sun will shine again.

Almost done he says. More like one more column. Still, I like how it turned out. Just need to press the seams so they nest, sew the columns, and then it's done. I'll do all that when it isn't 1:10am.

Nevermind, easy choice. My practice in Jak feels neverending, but this quilt is almost done.

Fun day today! Picked up a puppy today and named her Cirilla. Got more fabric for Shattered and ripped out the rows to add those in.

Well I guess I'm done ripping stitches for a while.

I love you Emma. I always will. You made the best choice you could make and I'll support you the whole way. You deserve happiness and security and I wasn't always great at giving you either. I'll carry these mistakes and do better. Even if I'm doing it for somebody else.

Brick by brick. That's how we create a new life. Friends, family, acquaintances. I stack them like bricks to form a new foundation. I cry out for the things I've lost. I am not fine. I am not okay.

But I will be okay. There will be sunny days again. There will be new loves, new hopes, new dreams.

My first mistake was using a single, amazing stone as a foundation. That stone could hold up everything. But when that stone shifted, or changed, important things found themselves falling by the way side.

I had a hellish existence at GDQ last week. 837 miles from Pittsburgh the rock I'd built my life upon shifted and took that life with her.

I returned to a half-empty home without the life that it should have contained. I wept for what I had lost and knew I wouldn't ever recover it.

Went to my parents for dinner after getting a much needed post-GDQ nap and my mom laid out 3 quilts for my dad and I to pick from. She picked this one up to show us and I called dibs immediately. I'm a sucker for color gradient/rainbow quilts. Thanks mom! ❤️

Doing Stage Tech for the finale of Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 has been an honor. Looking forward to SGDQ and hopefully doing it all again. ❤️

I've almost finished my 8th quilt, tentatively named Shattered Dreams / Raising Spirits. Just need to add borders to the edge so it'll be king sized, then it's off to the quilter!
