We're talking to psychologist Suzan Song about where she thinks true healing comes from, and how we can apply that to more ordinary suffering, like a breakup or an unexpected loss. Song’s new book is “Why We Suffer and How We Heal.”

God’s Word does not return void …
But people can harden their heart like Pharaoh too.
Maybe we should pray for conviction to be stirred up as they read those words.
Calm down, computer software isn't making decisions about who lives and who dies in war. It merely processes a ton of data and then makes a recommendation to a human who has no realistic way to verify it
A black dog looking at me with love in her eyes.
I am an utterly mediocre human being who is lucky enough to live with an absolutely superlative dog who acts as if I hung the moon, which is probably why I post so many pictures of her here. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
The first and most important step when using an oven is to preheat all the pans you store in there to 425.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated story. These things are prevalent in a lot of homes. Women really get a very, very unfair shake, even in this country.
Nobody takes it seriously.
Former President Barack Obama met with New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani for the first time Saturday, joining preschoolers at a child care center for a book reading and singalong.

Thank you for your courage to publicly address abusive language.
Another thing that is confusing the political commentariat about Mamdani is that he isn't going to run for President because he can't. So they can't write their usual 'he's a political climber' story lines and I think that has also broken something in them.
Book titled The Christian Past That Wasn’t
Glad to see this important book from my old pal @wthrockmorton.bsky.social, who I got to know fighting US Christian right backing for Uganda’s “kill the gays” bill. Warren, a conservative Christian teaching at a Christian college, was a hero. He’s been fighting the good fight ever since.
General Rule of Thumb:
If a president doesn't like dogs, he/she is going to make a crummy president.

You know, instead of GoFundMes, what if we had a system where a whole bunch of us paid in money, and when health bills happened, that money was paid out?
Wait a minute.
Our team received a report of intermittent app outages at about 11:40pm PDT on April 15, 2026. They worked through the night to mitigate a sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack, which intensified throughout the day.
The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.
Feels important to uplift Rep Pressley's leadership. She puts in a lot of work on issues that others often don't see as a priority. I've appreciated her anti-criminalization work over the years. She's a worker.
Omg the first episode of Beef S2 is pitch perfect.
That actually makes sense. Instead of saying it was a doctored image, he claimed that he was a doctor.
A chunk of blue-grey fluff that is actually a very soft kitten sitting on a library desk. They are doing a very serious Kitten Face and have very intent yellow-gold eyes, and they would be so scary and fierce if they were more than six inches tall and not so hugely adorable when they tried to be judgey.
The news all sucks today.
Here's a kitten in a library!
If I were a recent Catholic convert, I might hesitate before lecturing the Pope on Catholic theology, but I guess I just lack sufficient self-confidence.
A lifetime doesn’t seem long enough.
Do you ever think about how much unlearning we all need to do?
Not feeling good about giving my hard earned money to the oligarchs, to fund illegal & unnecessary "wars,"or fund any of this admin's crooked schemes.
Not at all 'good.'
Excellent remarks.
For all those still feeling the moon joy—Artemis II was brought to you by public schools and publicly funded science. Copy that! 👩🚀🚀💕
*All four astronauts went to public schools!
Some say “well that’s not the real Christ.” Fair, as a statement of faith; but not as one of history, in which Christianity doesn’t get to say of all those killed in its name, “nothing to do with us!” If you want to invoke faith, turn instead to those who fight for a better version, not denial.
We do ourselves no favors in fighting Christian nationalism by falling back—unknowingly, I’m sure—on one of the oldest canards of European antisemitism, the old/New Testament distinction, as if oceans of blood haven’t also been shed on behalf of the New Testament, quoting Jesus directly.
