Top caption reads: Taken nearly 58 years apart, these images capture Earth on the moon's horizon across two eras of lunar exploration. Below are side by side images: on the left, the new Earthset image produced by the Artemis II mission and on the right, the iconic Earthrise image captured during the Apollo 8 mission in 1968.
Nearly 58 years later and Earth is still just as beautiful.

Do we need badges to participate? My professional renewal (been a pro for a decade), submitted in August, still hasn't received a response. Nobody has responded to my most recent query about that, either. Sigh! Thanks for all you do!

And for now, for these forty minutes, those four astronauts are cut off from the rest of humanity. When you see the image with the Earth, Moon, and Orion spacecraft in view, you are seeing all of humanity.

Christina Koch’s facial profile backlit by Earth in the background, through the spacecraft window
So, to sum up, a couple of days ago Christina Koch became the first woman to see Earth in its entirety, and today – right now, in fact – she is the first woman to see the Moon up close, and the first woman to see the far side. 🥹

The silly firefighter show has hit me hard with its latest storyline. My family has a history of addiction that I managed to avoid by seeing the patterns when I was very young. I wish more addicts were treated with grace, compassion, & HEALTHCARE, as opposed to disdain and jail time.

I have way too many complaints about the current state of software and our personal agency about how we use it. I will spare you the rant, but I do have one!

For someone who grew up on Moonlighting and X-Files, I believe the term y'all are looking for is "will they or won't they?" Using "queerbaiting" when one of the characters is canonically out and bi is not a good look for you.

Completely agree. It has none of the charm and warmth of the original and Lone Star. We gave it a few episodes and tapped out mid-episode 3. The crossover did not make me want to try it again.

I love the silly OG firefighter show, but Nashville is so offensively bad that we stopped midway through episode 3. The crossover script had B&E OOC for this point in their arcs. I've never seen a canonically queer character no-homo'd so aggressively, and by someone who truly knows him so well.

I just got home from work and went to open tabs just in case it went down again, and it's already down again. 😱😭
Really feeling the addiction at this point, and I'm not even sorry about it.

Upon finishing it, I have to say that #WonderMan is the best thing in the MCU in ages. Character-driven storytelling. If you missed it because of the horrible advertising, go check it out. It has heart and so many layers, and Abdul-Mateen and Kingsley deserve awards for their performances.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.
