I’ve had my head stuck in a manuscript for a long time! But I want to share that out of the blue on this platform I had a long conversation over several days with a famous author (why me?) and that it helped to motivate me with my own work when I was flagging. Thank you ❤️ You know who you are.

Thank you 😘
Hooray 🎉
This morning light … from the beach cottage at Byron, which we call The Pondok.
I wish Mary Oliver was here and could put words to it.
Now that’s a brilliant idea! Thank you 🍊
🤪
I am bewildered. (Not an unusual state) I discovered that my latest book is in libraries all over Australia but not the library where I live. It isn’t even on order 🤷♀️ I don’t know what to say.
👏👏👏
Thank you, sweetheart 😘
Happy Book Birthday to The Scent of Oranges!!! 🎉🥂🎶
Yay!!!! Out today!!!! At all good bookstores!!!! There’s no such thing as a bad bookstore! (And I’ll stop before I use up my quota of exclamation marks!)
So pretty
I love this book. It’s heartbreaking but.
Five authors I’ve read five or more books by:
Maggie O’Farrell
Jon McGregor
Tim Winton
Anita Shreve
Daphne du Maurier
I have found many things on the beach in my lifetime but this little seahorse is a first. Honoured and strangely moved to hold its little body within my hand.
😂
👏👏👏 for the Hawkeye; and
❤️❤️❤️ for the GenreCon concept
Sound advice.
The Hungry Caterpillar. And the magic happens all over again.
❤️
Some of you will be sick of me soon … My third novel The Scent of Oranges comes out in 8 sleeps and forgive me while I promote the heck out of it. I love 🧡 this book. It’s probably the best thing I’ve written.
Available for preorder through Harper Collins Australia website or at all good Australian bookstores.
My third novel THE SCENT OF ORANGES is out on 4 December 2024. A vivid retelling of Dickens’ Oliver Twist from the viewpoint of Nancy, it gives voice to one of literature’s most tragic and most maligned characters. The Scent of Oranges is probably the best thing I’ve ever written 🍊
So sorry, Mary Oliver. An entire box of fridge word magnets and not one precious amongst them.
