A mainstay in the Dinamo Champions League side this season, Torrente has curiously low stats with regards to defensive actions due to Dinamo’s dominance.

But - as a progressive, ball-playing defender - there are few with more potential in Europe right now.

Raúl Torrente (🇪🇸, 23) - Dinamo Zagreb (🇭🇷)

An integral part of the Lens defensive line, Khusanov is equally adept with his right and left foot, has played in a 4, and in a 5.

His defensive actions speak for themselves, excellent in duels and a regular feeder of the Lens frontline with his long-passes into them.

Abdukodir Khusanov (🇺🇿, 20) - Lens (🇫🇷)

Querfeld, a mainstay in the Rapid Wien side for 2 seasons, is now transitioning into a regular player for Union Berlin in Germany.

Capped already by Austria, Querfeld is a rock in defence and has the ball-playing ability to operate in midfield.

On the fringes of the Ajax first team, Kaplan has long been heralded as a long-term Turkey centre back for years to come.

6ft3 and creative with the ball whilst being aerially astute - he is sure to become a top-level defender one day.

Born in Germany, Barišić spent time in academies in Croatia before starting his senior career with Osijek.

A loan spell with Frosinone in Italy preceded his move to Switzerland to represent Basel.

Exceptional ball carrier.

Statistically one of the most outstanding all-round centre backs in South America.

An exceptional, modern, left-footed centre back who can also play left-back.

Bayram is clearly an all-rounder, as can be seen from his pizza chart.

A regular in the Turkish youth setup, Bayram signed permanently from Galatasaray in the summer, but would be available within the necessary budget.
