I don't get how people don't realize that a technology that replaces junior and entry level positions in a field destroys that field.

There's no skipping steps. You have to be a junior before you can be a senior, and if you don't have senior people, you don't have a field.

Steam cover.

Steam cover.

Alternate steam cover.

Alternate steam cover.

Cover piece for an indie game called ‘The Bloodline’ which has been incredibly fun to work on. I also made an alternate colored sunset theme for them. #indiegame #steamcapsule #videogames

All in all, this is one elaborate way of saying you are doing fine as is so long as you’re trying a little everyday. There is no shame in that. Just be sure to take care of yourself as you do it and you will alway reach the end of the marathon :)

I totally get that. Depending on your job you probably do plenty of 3D/2D that it’s the last thing you want to do with your free time. Look at it like a marathon and not a sprint. Set up for an hour and do what you can. While it may not feel like a lot it’s more than never running at all.

I attempt to make a little progress every weekend on personal stuff. Im fortunate for still having a game dev job right now but I guess I like having the time alone to learn something new (substance designer mainly.) better to learn something new than brood at world news.

Sorry you’re going through that. I feel like I’m drowning making rent and I live in Canada so I got it easier. The sheer idea of living in the US where I’m from is insane. I still get butchered by US taxes as well.

I'm going for the same achievement setup. Got every achievement except Lent, but been really excited for Hardcore mode so I'm doing all the negative perks just cause.

I 100% agree. Even now on the rare occasion I do go to a movie I always make that area spotless cause I’ve been on the other side lol

I worked as an usher at a theater years ago and maybe it’s not just this movie but I remember EVERY kids movie was a nightmare to clean up between shows. But seeing this stuff lately… yeah, wtf is wrong with people.

Looking back, I really regret scraping this bust (hah) sculpt of Lady Dimitrescu. Did this while still in school a few years back but never really felt happy with the overall result. Anyways, here you go.

Thank you Ubisoft Toronto for hosting this competition and for giving me the opportunity to both create this scene, and to work with you!

In my experience every time I’ve been offered an art test that was unpaid I always seem to make it all the way to the final round just to not get the offer. The one time I got a paid art test (from an indie company) I got the job. It’s like a bad omen to me.

"if I just work hard enough, eventually I'll make it"

No. cause if you don't make it that means you didn't work hard enough. And that isn't fair to your efforts.

there are so many factors outside of your hands. So much success is luck, and failure is not always your fault. cut yourself some slack.
