I received an email from a student who wanted me to supervise their PhD. Subject line was "URGENT".
My friend has an autoreply on her personal email that says she is on a "creative break' and will reply when she can. I'm so envious.
Doing them with bacon sounds amazing! I always end up with more than I know what to do with so I'll give that a try.
I have oodles of Jerusalem artichokes (I've always called them sun chokes) after planting them once. I'm not sure what do to with them aside from putting them in stew. Your meal looks delicious!
Can we reduce polarization with empathy? Just published a new (replication) study with @mrooduijn.bsky.social and Matthijs Gillissen showing that different components of empathy have quite different effects [1/5] www.cambridge.org/core/journal...
I just got called out for setting the oven to 358 degrees. If I wrote a cookbook (don't worry, I won't), the whole thing would consist of instructions like, "bake for 33 minutes at 412 degrees."
Preregistration is a floor, not a ceiling: Use it to specify initial analyses with the understanding that you can and should go further when you see unexpected patterns in the data.

That was supposed to be tested not rested. Obviously new parents are not rested!
That's a sad story. I wish they'd given more information about the test items and how parents are failing (and are both parents rested or just mothers?)
Also, I just said "he" because I realize I have no idea how to how to make foreign language accent marks on my phone.
Cats are gonna cat. It would be trickier if he was trying to keep the cat out of the box. Photo evidence that my cats will also eat boxes.
Excellent advice!
I'm smelling the fresh bread just reading this!
I adopted these two (brother and sister) in the summer.
Canadian here. Second and third read were also confusing.
Help Alexander find his people!
Thank you. I feel seen.
Thank you! I'm absolutely besotted with them, but try not to pull out the phone full of pictures without some sort of invitation. ๐
I adopted these two over the summer and I take any post like this as an invitation to show them off (yes, they're on a high chair).
Sounds fascinating! Following.
Full disclosure - I haven't tried this yet, but I will.
I haven't for a few years because there's so much other content for the topic. And for Milgram, I give the basics then we dive into the McDonalds strip search caller situation www.cbc.ca/news/world/e...
Way off topic, but im so envious that there are editors who manage to find FOUR reviewers!
We're hiring a clinical psychologist! This position is on our Thunder Bay campus. You'd be part of a friendly, Psychologydepartment.

Had a paper accepted but they never sent page proofs or responded. Finally withdrew & submitted elsewhere. Student co-author asked "why there?" I gave lengthy explanation of fit. Student said, "no, I mean they already desk rejected this paper years ago." Student is now in charge of remembering.
If you want an account that will just cheer you up, I highly recommend Eli.
Is there a cat lady starter pack? Asking for a friend. Also, in my friend's head, men can definitely be cat ladies.
Right? I'm afraid they'll just ignore me or I'll get "um, no." On the other hand, I don't know why YOU are worried about it!
My great great grandfather is a character in this book! (Sabine Baring-Gould).
