"Low-income households will get [free] plug-in solar panels to cut their energy bills, the Government has announced."
This is how you do a just transition.

It was wonderful to host MPs, policing minister @sarahjonesmp.bsky.social, and women's, disability, and LGBT+ organisations last night to celebrate the passing of my amendment to strengthen hate crime law.
I'm really proud to have pushed through this important change in the law.
The Guardian finding it impossible to go more than one day without a sycophantic Zack Polanski puff piece. Today he’s apparently invented the concept of a fundraiser held at a nightclub.
Meanwhile, not one story about his refusal to do anything about the vile racism of multiple council candidates.
Be careful what you wish for.
Add to that the fact she says “er, dunno” when asked about literally anything of policy substance.
The “I’m so much better than everyone else because I’m just a normal gal” schtick is going to get real old, real fast.

Can a young person please tell Samantha Niblett how to turn off her online parental controls.
If one of my party's recent prime ministers had redecorated the Number 10 flat in a way that ended up involving TWO separate inquiries and a Wikipedia page, I would simply not have put out a press release confirming that the current prime minister had spent less than the allowance he was given.
Bizarre discussion on this morning’s Politics at Sam and Anne’s about a supposed deadline for govt bills to be passed before prorogation, when the govt can just… er… roll all of them over to the next session. A total non-issue. @samcoatessky.bsky.social
Sure, sex is good. But have you tried:
I just can’t cope.

Top six government ministers on the morning round all men.
Well over double the average salary of £35k.
To put that in perspective a top 10% salary is about £75k.
Britain’s financial problems would be solved in an instant if we just levied a tax on newspapers who ludicrously claim that being in the top 9% of estates makes you “middle class”.
The Green Party wants millionaires to get help with their bills, and they want you to pay for it!
Just so we're clear, the Green Party's definition of 'ordinary people' is 'everyone'.
This is just bad journalism from the Guardian. This FullFact sets out in scientific terms why smoking is worse for you than sunbeds.
But it's still less dangerous than having an anvil dropped on your head!
fullfact.org/health/sunbe...
Smoking probably is more dangerous than sunbeds. But 'number of deaths' isn't a relevant metric without comparing it to the frequency with which people do it.
I would assume far few people use sunbeds than smoke?
DHSC now say smoking is more dangerous than sunbeds because smoking causes “80 times more cancer cases”.
But that's a bizarre way to define danger. Fewer people die from a ten-tonne anvil falling on them, but that's clearly more dangerous than smoking.

For months, critics of net zero said falling oil prices proved fossil fuels were now “cheaper.” Now Middle East instability is threatening another oil price spike — and higher energy bills for Britain. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20zgjzz0e4o

"You were a Remainer when David Cameron was PM. You were a Brexiteer when Boris was."
"When the Tories are languishing in the polls, you’ve gone to the party that is leading in the polls."
Ignore the professional gloomsters and doomsters.
- Borrowing ⬇️ (record surplus last month)
- Inflation (and interest rates) ⬇️
- UK fastest growing European G7 economy
- Retail sales up 4.5% over the year
There’s lots more to do but Britain’s economy is on the mend.
"We're not like other parties, and I won't tolerate disloyalty," says Farage, as he introduces a cabinet that is 50% disloyal people from another party.
