Saw a man wearing a U.S.S. Indianapolis veteran's hat at a restaurant tonight. I don't know his story, but I've heard of that particular ship. It was hit with a torpedo in WWII, and the surviving navy men had to deal with hungry sharks before they were rescued. I wonder what this man experienced.

Gonna give blood today. I'm O-, which means I'm a universal donor, so it's extra important that I do this regularly. My husband, who is B+, is also giving. We plan to grab dinner afterwards.

Did my REAL ID appointment. It went fine. Didn't realize it could take up to 15 days to receive it. I have an early flight on May 1st. We'll see what happens. Anyone know if I can use my provisional ID to get on a plane? Or do I have to fork over 45 bucks to buy my way on? Thanks!

They caught and killed a bee or wasp today. I think Bob got stung on the paw, but otherwise, everyone survived. Many treats were had.

Thawed some pastina stelline chicken soup that I made a while back. It's still very tasty!

It's track season again, and I live next to a school. There have been starter gun shots every few minutes all day. I have PTSD and react negatively to the sound. Because of the issue with my mental health medication, I am currently on only half the usual dose. This sucks.

Today's lunch: a taco con lengua (beef tongue), an elote (Mexican street corn) that I covered in Tajin seasoning, and an empanada filled with guava paste. Yum!

Over on Threads, there's a white woman who says we should be nice to fascists. I wrote a book where a bunch of nazis get shot and ripped apart by a robot dog, if you're wondering how I feel about that.

I got takeout tonight. Duck rolls with plum sauce and chicken hearts on skewers with a funky sauce I loved. Both items were absolutely delicious!

Every time one of my cats catches a bug in the house (they don't go outside), all three of them get treats. They have made the connection and will immediately go looking for more bugs so they can get more treats. It's adorable and convenient.
