Opinion | Don’t Use A.I. to Do This

Read this from @colsonwhitehead.com because it's funny & true & because, alas, it's not enough to oppose AI, you have to fortify that opposition frequently, because it's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, friends and comrades are going down all around us. Gift: www.nytimes.com/2026/04/15/o...

It sucks Sheldon passed. I know he had health issues but he was a young guy. A year younger than me.

I moved to KY last Jan, had him on my radar for a meet up. We didn't talk much last couple of yrs bc of the downfall of X, & that was his preferred social. An exceptional writer & a solid human RIP

It’s already so shocking this hasn’t turned out to be an anti war administration. Glenn Greenwald assured me the Democrats were the real threat to world peace. What happened????

I just can’t believe he failed to reach a peace agreement with Iran. He’s such an exceptional diplomat. It’s just so shocking.

The GuardIan keeps asking me for money talking about their “integrity,” then the publish that bullshit. Yeah, no.

Imagine if they treated this the way they treated Biden’s decline during the election.

Shame on you for publishing this. Every piece of credulous bullshit you publish about this exploitative tech further erodes my trust in your integrity and the rest of your journalism.

2 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

Seriously. Thank you for saying this. Just absolutely reprehensible to publish this.

Prematurely claiming to be be the victim of outrage for your shitty take is also intellectually dishonest hope it’s worth whatever pittance they paid you for this with their open AI money.

Dunno boss maybe you’re just an assole for normalizing exploitative tech that has a huge social and environmental cost as well as for suggesting anyone who objects to this is just fearful or backwards and that anyone who says they don’t use it is lying.

Ah, I was wondering why they publish so much credulous bullshit about AI.

this is the second "how I use AI as a journalist" piece in the last 24 hours and both are entirely disqualifying for those involved, embarrassing stuff

I think often of a New York Times photo of a little Iraqi girl tending to her parakeets in a bombed house, probably from 20 years ago now. I will think of this man and his sweet dog often now too. People just want to love what they love, care for their little beings, and instead we do this to them
