Really nice and charges fast but the accessory pocket is kinda useless, I wanted to put a dedicated cable in there and it made the inside too thick to properly close with the Switch 2 in it.

Pokemon's new "permanent" platform for the VGCs had the misfortune of a rocky launch and unappealing microtransactions. The game has a fair number of glitches that have already been acknowledged (if not fixed already) and it doesn't look much better on Switch 2 than it does on the original Switch. Despite that, it's still a pretty solid outlet for competitive battles and makes it very easy for new people to train and participate. Recruiting new Pokemon that are already battle-ready and having an accessible, straightforward way of training home-grown/caught Pokemon is an absolute Godsend for newbies and people that have grown tired of the grind just to compete. And while that sounds like it might start undercutting the pros as a result, proper training and stats will only take people so far without experience strategizing and studying the meta of competitive Pokemon. This brings the focus on competing and gaining experience rather than hatching endless eggs for perfect stats. I know one of the main complaints right now is about a lack of usable Pokemon/Hold Items (Mega Raichu X/Y are shown in promotional material but their Mega Stones are absent so far), but I think this was a pretty smart move to ease newer people into it, then start releasing more as time goes on. I don't doubt we're going to see fluctuating available rosters and items as seasons go on, especially since this is presumably going to be where ~all~ competitive battling is taking place from now on. The Premium Battle Pass does nothing but give you some extra cosmetics which are confirmed to go to the VP shop later and permanently recruitable Pokemon that you can already transfer over or get randomly in-game. The subscription gives you a lot more Box spaces, team slots, and extra ways of earning tickets to bypass certain VP costs, but unless you're a diehard competitive player, you can make do on the basic three team slots available. We'll see where this one heads as time goes on.
