[ID: A dark blue book cover that reads Wildness Unafraid at top. A picture of a Raven watching a sunrise from a tree with stars and the moon still in sight. At the bottom of the book cover it says poems and Tim Murphy].

My first almost-ripened tomato! 🥹🥰
I’ve been in a bad ME/CFS crash, and mostly bedbound for weeks. This little indoor garden has helped save my sanity.

This is the same eugenic belief system that many still hold re: the ongoing pandemic. They believe people’s deaths from covid are acceptable if they’re medically vulnerable. It’s a disgusting ableist belief system and this rhetoric surrounding children in Gaza is the natural consequence of that
My first success growing strawberries in my hydroponic garden!! 😍🙌🥰

I’ve never been successful with growing hydroponic strawberries so I hope this time is different.
My cucumbers are sprawling and blooming! I’ve been acting as the resident bee and pollinating the flowers and… success! After many attempts with growing hydroponic cucumbers, I have my first cucumber!
Hydroponic garden update: I have been giving butter lettuce away as a door prize to my visitors - it is abundant! I have harvested these 5 little plants many times and they just happily keep growing!
I have a blossom on my strawberry plant!!
A few little balcony joys this morning:
1- my first home grown strawberry! 🍓
2- a Western Tanager in our trees!(didn’t get a photo of it, but recorded it on Merlin)
3- the honey suckle is blooming! The hummingbirds will be so happy!
4- so many pretty pink honeysuckle blooms about to blossom!
As promised - #blackbirdersweek proving to be an exciting one around here! 🪶 I've really come to adore Trumpeter Swans these past few years and I'm really lucky that I only had to drive 10 minutes to check on this nest every day
😍
Please excuse the dirt mess :) - I’m waiting for it to dry out to vacuum up more easily
Planted my balcony garden today! My Columbine grew back from last year and is looking so happy! My baby bee balm came back as well. All the other plants are new and should be blooming soooon!! My honeysuckle should be blooming soon as well- will post bloom updates 🫡🌸
I would have loved a closer image, but this will do :)
LIFER!! 🥳🎉🙌 Yesterday, I FINALLY spotted a Lazuli Bunting!! For years, it has evaded me, mocked me by singing high up in trees, unseen. Then yesterday it finally happened 🤩 So much excitement and joy! 🥰
I was out on a jazzy ride when this happened, and didn’t have my good camera, just my phone.

A wind storm broke a branch off my honeysuckle plant outside so I brought it in and placed it in water just for aesthetics - I’m not propagating it, though I did think about it. I need to learn more about propagation first. Anyway- thanks for following along with my accessible gardening journey :)
The cucumber plants are off to a nice start with big luscious leaves. I tried a different kind of kale as an experiment, but I think I’ll go back to the Starbor variety as this one is struggling.
