Like a rampart in Drangleic castle is exacty like that, you'd expect some bricks to cover up the edge of the ledge, or crenellations, but instead it's level geometry edge.
There's others in many places in the game, but then again.. Dark Souls 3 straight up had a bunch of objects lacking textures.
Honestly my only real gripe with Dark Souls 2 is that some parts of some levels look like they never got the "polishing" round they needed even in the Scholar version of the game.
There's a lot of places where you can see pure geometry ending in a perfect 90 degree angle where 2 textures meet.
