Every time someone tries to tell me that generative AI use for students is just like calculators entering the classroom, I really want to point them to articles like this one.

I'd also love to go beyond "have students evaluate an AI piece of writing for weaknesses" because this just doesn't seem to be prompting the revelations for students that some people would like it to.

If you have any recommendations for me (a general hater of generative AI in the classroom context) for constructively planning around AI in lesson planning/pedagogy/ assignments, I am desperate for thoughtful resources. Book, podcast, and article recommendations are welcomed!!

My first semester as Dr. Troy is complete! Taught a lot on distilling complex environmental topics for a general audience, found a good rhythm of teaching and research, met new colleagues across campus, made progress in my quest to find the best almond croissants and seasonal lattes in town.
