At about minute 32 you can hear @davidlneal.bsky.social talking about Duke Energy and data centers, and how different choices could help us all live long and prosper (sorry could not help myself). www.wfae.org/show/charlot...

"We don't like having car payments for cars we're driving, and so that's what Duke gets to do. They get to charge you for the car before you get to drive it, and that's penny-wise and pound-foolish when they're making $5 billion in profits." #ncpol

Quality bike lanes can magically create new cyclists out of thin air.
"The installation of protected and buffered bicycle lanes was consistently and significantly associated with increased bicycle commuting."

This was a sweet read. Long live the mom and pop retailers of the land.
What I've learned is that you don’t move on from grief, you go on and carry it with you.
You will be happy and still carry the grief of his passing.
You will be sad and carry the grief.
The thing about grief is that it makes room for every other emotion to exist beside it.
Earthset from Artemis II. I am overcome.
1. I think the HRB may have an actual wizard working the sound. It always sounds incredible in there without making me regret the follies of my youth.
2. Magical show last night. If you can snag a ticket for tonight back in Sax, don’t miss it.
The limitations on violence established after World War II were not brought by pacifists or peaceniks but by literal old soldiers. They knew. They had seen.

Someone once gave me the advice to roll my arches with tennis balls as much as I could in the few hours before wearing tall heels and I swear it helped a ton.
hegseth pledged "no quarter." earlier this year a US sub sank a boat of iranians coming back from a fleet regatta. those we didn't kill we abandoned to drown. this week the iranians shot down and captured US pilots who were bombing them and it's being called a "hostage taking."
NDD less VA medical, 1986-present. roughly flat-ish until 2020 around 3%, and then down down down down to 2% last year. And then Trump is proposing taking it down to 1.7%.
Here is my thread on Trump's budget request, which I'll update throughout the day.
He calls to cut domestic discretionary funding to the lowest level in the modern era.
Trump's budget reimagines Americans' relationship with our govt, and proposes a country that does less to help people get by.
NASA posted this like 25 minutes ago and it's partially why I have so much energy today 🥰😭 www.instagram.com/p/DWq-l0gDegd/
Oh my god. Lol I saw it here and ran to turn on the tv. My long national nightmare is over!

If a secdef violating the 14th amendment rights of US servicemembers by denying promotions based on race isn’t impeachable then I don’t see what is. The man would rather the military be racist than effective.
i said last year that these people were segregationists and that “merit” just meant “white and male” to these people

Incredibly bummed to have a prior commitment. I know this is going to be great and everyone else should go!
The Trump Administration is spending nearly $1 billion in taxpayer money to pay off a company to stop investments in the clean energy we need. This is a terrible deal for the people of North Carolina and our country.

New from me: by the end of the week, the war in Iran will likely have cost $25 billion, with Trump poised to ask for $200 billion more
Below is a writeup, but the meat of it is this table, which shows what an equal amount of funding could cover domestically

In 2014, NYC lowered the citywide default speed limit from 30 mph to 25 mph. In the year that followed:
- Traffic fatalities fell by more than 22%
- Pedestrian fatalities fell by more than 25%
Yes, adding physical traffic calming is imperative but just lowering the limit can have a halo effect.
Las carreteras de NC se llenan de mensajes críticos: Vallas publicitarias cuestionan el aumento del presupuesto de ICE y exigen priorizar a las comunidades sobre las deportaciones.
