Rereading #JudithHerman's Truth & Repair & this line feels especially apt: “tyrants and their apologists in autocratic regimes lie constantly, not so much to deny their crimes (although that is one reason) as to assert that reality is whatever the tyrant says it is.” #abusesurvivors #Trump
glad to be a speaker for this panel event about #boundaries - a topic I have LOTS of thoughts & feelings about! with @theflyingchild.bsky.social & Survivors' Voices www.theflyingchild.com/event-details/boundaries-or-barbed-wire-a-dangerous-tool #counselling #therapy #retraumatisation

I can't seem to message you! Can you email me and we can share a link? Also would 12 be OK instead?
Friday morning is good at 11
Thank you - thrilled to bits! Hope we can have a Xmas catch up maybe?! X
@katehorsleywriter.bsky.social just found you here too - looking forward to catching up x
Looking forward to Helen Scales's ocean talk, & also to joining @petermcallister.bsky.social & other contributors to *Cornwall In Short* at North Cornwall Book Festival in just over a week. 10-11am 27 Sept - Free! Foxgloves!
evading the usual back-to-school blues with news of this new author tour in SW libraries to kick off in Jan 2026 - excited to start planning...
More than 100 women's rights groups have warned that "racist" attempts to link sexual violence with immigration are putting victims at increased risk. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

"Poor us", and aren't we so very resilient and brave, we have all over again. Moth is not just upset but emotionally devastated; it's not just traumatising but 'absolutely traumatising', and 'heart breaking', and 'unbearable', and yet she seems to bear it so well. #TheSaltPath
fantastic workshop, thanks Scott, and glad your book sales made room for your fermented stuff!

pleased to be embarking on a new role as Research Community Facilitator for Survivors' Voices, alongside my writing and library work with @swrls.bsky.social
at this midway point of a busy week (currently thinking about reading on the platform at Reading) I've another urge to share my life in categories
This was brilliant yesterday and wish I could join today too - journeying to London - hope to catch up again soon!
Thank you 🙏
So many lives lost, directly and indirectly - most entirely unreported - over decades... not sure anything much is changing.
I find the repeated language of 'accuser' frustrating too, as though nothing was proven. Reality is doubted again and again and again.
3 events that prompted me to reflect/naval gaze on my messy career and tidy things into categories... new blog post! #soundstudies #oralhistory #readingstudies #memorystudies #traumastudies #gothicstudies #literatureandscience etc
next week my things to do include a guest lecture for 'Reading Communities' module at @bathspauni.bsky.social, a 2-day @recovery-histories.bsky.social event at Birkbeck (on an advisory grp), then part of a panel @tatestives.bsky.social for the #ithelcolquhoun conference :-)
glad to put this job on the SWRLS website before signing off for the long weekend 📚 would love to see such jobs in every library everywhere forever
