Math teachers: What's your biggest question about outcomes based assessment?

Here's my hot take: VNPS are great, but they aren't the end all and be all. We also want kids to be able to keep a record of their learning: the messy, the mistakes, the journey.

This is why I have my kids keep Mathematician's Notebooks as a place to record evidence of their learning journey.

I’m clearly now Howie. But— lots
and lots of visuals. Don’t rush to the algorithms. Have kids explore concrete representations and build
connections.
