“Tibetan Skirt” -First Draft

I love the tie closure detail on this skirt and how the panels fold over each other to form a box pleat appearance.

Maybe if I learn how to make beautiful things it’ll translate into living a beautiful life

I’m trying to declutter my life but it’s so hard to get rid of things. Everything has a little spirit that I don’t want to just throw away

I think I’ve been trying to make myself fit into places where I naturally don’t. I’m embracing my natural tendencies more now

Overhearing the Ai workshop at work 🤮🤮🤮 why do designers need this?

I’m gonna start experimenting with fabrics once I get to the pants part of my lessons.

Then I’ll be able to wear them myself 😎

My mentor usually tells me to use wool fabrics for the outer shell and lighter materials like silk for the lining.

“Couture is about structure” she always says

But I think this would still be great in lighter/flowy fabrics. Maybe I’d change the shape/angle of the curve to make it more exaggerated

The hem has a fusible in it, to give it structure. This was my first time doing such a large curve though so it could definitely be neater 😅

For my first drafts, I usually just do a plain white twill fabric (kinda like muslin) cuz it’s easy to work with
