Reform UK Nottinghamshire Council borrow £15m
Nottinghamshire council led by Mick Barton have borrowed £15m in their first year, making this another broken promise - which follows their pre-election Council Tax pledge. Prior to the election Reform UK had criticised borrowing and adding to debt.

New rights at work take effect today, including extending sick pay to the first day of illness, and paternity leave entitlement from the first day of employment.

Gary Smith has been re-elected unopposed as our General Secretary and Treasurer.
He joined GMB at 16 as an apprentice in the gas industry and this is his second term of office, following his first election as the union’s leader in 2021.
