I love the flowers on my Taylor's Sunburst Lodgepole Pine. You don't think of fine flowering, but every year this one puts on bright pink flowers that turn into cones by the end of the season.

An exceedingly fluffy moth sitting on a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap. It's got a shape like a triangle with rounded mothy corners, and its wings are dark grey with tiny black spots. Its body is super fluffy like a plush toy. Its Legs are also super fluffy like it's wearing fur trousers, ending in little black feet. It also has long black comb-like antennas. It's a male muslin moth. Perfect fluffy moth pal, no notes.

I'm in a Wikipedia rabbithole about shipwrecks, which is how I'm accidentally learning any giant clams. The giant clams are endangered so they had to be moved out of the way when a huge cruise ship tragically wrecked above them.
The sea floor is wild. What do you mean there's a species of clam that can grow up to 4 feet long, has a mutualistic relationship with a shrimp that warms it of predators, and produces a silk-like secretion once used to make paper?

Historically, way harder to dig and maintain a tunnel in soft Central Valley sediments than it was to use Fresno scrapers other steam/horse powered tools to make ditches that had a gradient of about .25โ/mi. Itโs way more cost effective too. Hereโs our TID history.
