Pace of N.I.H. Funding Slows Further in Trump’s Second Year

This is the perhaps the worst part: “This is lost time for all of us,” Dr. Lauer said. “Instead of spending their time doing science and hopefully making discoveries that will make us all healthier, they’re rewriting grant applications.”

As a West Philly baseball mom and volunteer for our local rec league, this article is spot on. The kids out there need safe play spaces and rec sports—and not just the robust programs in the northeast with snack bars, real bathrooms in club houses, and recruiting systems.

How Losing My Limbs Turned Me Into a Different Kind of Cook

“I was able to recognize my mother, who…spent nights with me, and my husband and younger brother, who would visit during the mornings and afternoons. My constant and singular thought during that time was this: If they could see me, then I was safe.”

Two bar graphs show national screening percentages. Graph A shows demographic subgroups, with categories like "Overall" and "Uninsured." Graph B breaks down screening by geographic region: Northeast, Midwest, South, West. Both compare 'Screened (status quo),' 'Reference,' and 'Screened (after improvement)'.

I work with Veterans. If I told them that they "killed people and broke things for a living" they would (rightfully) tell me to go to hell.

Those that have had to kill someone in the line of duty most often view it with sadness, regret, and one of the worst experiences of their lives.

I have had the good fortune to visit the Coal Workers Program of NIOSH in West Virginia. The team is incredible - dedicated to protecting generations of workers doing jobs most of us can barely imagine. I’m glad to hear the program has been (temporarily) restored. abcnews.go.com/amp/US/live-...
