The Future is not what you think. People trained on self driving cars or notions from the 1950s are ill-prepared to see what's actually growing behind the scenes, out of public view.

Excited to be attending the Foundations for the Digital Commons today in Portland ME! I'll try to liveblog highlights here :)

Nice drawing; can we just smudge the pink region on the Y axis — a subcohort defined by being more imaginative?
A screenshot of the first page of an academic figure with a list of authors and a high-level schematic figure describing Cocoa, an interactive system for co-planning and co-execution with AI agents.
🤔Giving complex tasks to AI agents is easy—getting them to do exactly what you want isn’t. How can human-AI collaboration give us more reliable & steerable agents?
🍫Introducing Cocoa, our new interaction paradigm for balancing human & AI agency in complex human-AI workflows. 🧵
Not everything can be reduced do a sound-byte (bite?). The brevity/clarity of a pithy summary may improve transmission but decisions and resultant outcomes are sensitive to the loss of nuance. Normalize complex but well reasoned and carefully laid out takes!
I recently came across an artist that proclaimed themselves “The only folk punk band not afraid to call themselves a folk punk band.” This brought me so much joy.

The lack of a robust “I’m a human” ID protocol in the internet is what’s created our current dystopian hellscape. I’m hopeful that LLMs will actually force a change.
Open protocols are the new antitrust because network effects are the new vertical integration
Nit pick. Stigmergy (phenomenon) is ancient/natural, and the term was coined c. 1959.

Lazy Saturday messing around with digital circuits in front of the fire in preparation for Cyborg Camp.
Agree. The important part about the approach is how the human operating team continues to evolve the detection schemes over time based on the evolution of the attackers strategies.
