@theswoop.bsky.social has released her take on the Epstein files.
Settling in for a watch.

Heard from my son in Virginia that the polling places are hoppin' today; he believes it bodes well !
It only took the two of us 1.5 hours to: swap compost between bins & make room for grass clippings, mow & collect grass in the front lawn, mow what we will be keeping short in the back, and refill bins.
We only collect the first long mow of the year; we mulch in place the rest of the year.
Go us!!
I got a GC cut today too. The instructions that they have stored associated with my phone number read "#7 clippers side and back, trim about an inch from the top length, blend."
Sometimes I need > 1" trimmed and they get nervous.
I still have to say "Yes, I know that's short. It's what I want."
Me, musing to self: "I'd love some chicken parm right now."
*looking in fridge/freezer*
"Chicken nuggets, pasta sauce, fresh grated parmesan cheese..."
That works!
This is a fantastic use of a labeler (on an idea some of us discussed a couple years ago. If you are out of fucks to give like the first post @fucks.supply posted and you will show up (to anyone who subscribed to its labeler) as being all out of fucks to give.
I love visiting Paris and hope that someday we'll be able to do one more trip! Thank you for the pictures!
Oooo new bird to my feeder! I wasn't fast enough to take a photo (and the weather isn't conducive for good photos anyway) but I had an Eastern Bluebird visit today. Such striking colors!

It is a dreary, rainy (yay!), double-coffee-pot day here in central Kentucky.
Matt made some glorious baguettes yesterday (Sorry again, darling, for my mistake) and today he is making an onion soup for dinner.
I am going to lounge after my sewing binge yesterday and rest a bit.
Are they secret pants? Cause those are the best of ALL worlds π

There's a flock of cowbirds at my bird feeders right now. The adults are too big to eat anywhere but from the platform. The juveniles, however, are still small enough that they can manage to perch on the finch feeder and carefully poke their heads into the tiny spaces for some seeds.
Such a fast make! I just need to hem them.
As of the time of posting, there are ***20*** tornado warnings. PLEASE pay attention to your local weather, especially in the Midwest !

Photo of my new Avid Armor chamber vacuum, all set up and tested!
So I might have gotten a new preservation toyβ¦
Matt tells me we have a "minor crisis" in that we didn't have any thawed breakfast meat. We do, however, have a leftover bourbon-glazed pork chop, so he's going to make an egg scramble with that and some veggies.
I pulled a bacon pack from the freezer for tomorrow.
Crisis averted!
I have a small lot and as of today, 1/3 of the back is left for wildlife, 1/3 is garden+shed, and the last 1/3 is mown so I have access to everything incl bird feeders.
We *might* mow the front yard for the first time this year today; the grass is finally seeding its own bare patches.
Today was laundry day, so I prepped about 15 yards of fabric for upcoming sewing projects.
Since bsky isn't having a good day, I went ahead and cut out all the pattern pieces I need for my purple overalls. I'll probably start sewing them together tomorrow, which means I'll be wearing them soon!
One of my neighbors is watering his lawn because we're in a mini-drought situation. I can see the sprinkler going from here.
Note my grass is as green as his, even though I don't water, because I let it grow a little longer in dry weather. We should get a good soaking rain in a few hours.

We had to turn the A/C on several days in March this year. I'm good with 75-80 temps, but my husband can't sleep in the heat at all (and wishes I could live at 65 year round).
I haven't put away my electric blanket yet, though I do have the window open most nights.
Imagine a bird that is more than half the height of the tube feeder contorting itself around the tube to get some seed.
I refilled the feeder last night with a mix of millet and sunflower seeds, hoping to tempt the woodpecker back because it is fun to watch.
I guess this mix worked!
I'm going to have to get my camera set up again - I have a red-bellied woodpecker who I think is feeding young. Every 30 minutes or so it perches on the lower level of my finch feeder, stretches its head around, and grabs seed from the upper level halfway around the tube.
It's pretty funny to see.
Photo of fuzzy dog, stretched out over most of a bed.
Me: *sits at my desk*
Percy: *walks in, whines*
Me: *looks at bed covered in sewing stuff* Oh, you want this?
Percy: *sighs*
Me: *puts away pattern, cutting mat, scissors* That better?
Percy: *hops up onto bed*
Percy: *immediately falls asleep and starts snoring*
Me: I guess so.
Here's hoping people are paying attention to the weather. We're not in any danger, but there are at least 7 tornado warnings happing right now including Wisconsin!

I wrote an entire invoicing "application" using nothing but Lotus1,2,3 spreadsheets and macros (circa 1987), so mad respect!

Those are so cute!
I've been talking myself out of buying the SneakerKit soles for a while now, even though I love the idea of making my own custom shoes.
This means primarily buying only fresh foodstuff and otherwise cooking/eating from the pantry.
We have some resources for extras, but it is a finite amount. We do not want to burn through it all and leave ourselves without any emergency funds.
We had some credit card sticker shock this morning... even after adjusting for atypical medical bills, annual subscriptions, and one-time purchases, we spent nearly 50% more on "living" than we previously did.
We are going to see if we can reign in some of that spending for the next month.
Expecting a big announcement about not blockading after all and "look how much oil we're letting through, it's their fault no peace deal" just in time for opening bell.
Market manipulations...
Woke up to the smell of fresh-baked bagels. They were absolutely delicious!!
