STARS/WILD - Two teams who knew for weeks they were playing each other. Both had good seasons and it’s a shame they’re meet so early. This one goes the distance I reckon, and a lot of this depends on Dallas containing Quinn Hughes which I don’t think they can over a 7 game series. Wild in 7.

VGK/UTAH - the VGK have been very good since the coaching change, but the other 74? Mediocre at best. Utah are another young, fast team who were also a bit up and down but were safely in a wildcard spot for weeks. Utah’s speed will be too much for Vegas & the barn in Utah will be hot. Mammoth in 7

AVS/KINGS - Let’s be real, the Kings don’t deserve to be there and if they steal a game that’s probably about the best they can hope for. Avs are a wagon, shame they’re not wearing the Nords jerseys though. Avs in 4.

PENS/FLYERS - Experience vs youth. Credit to Philly for turning their season around, they were done at one stage, but they’ve gotten hot at the right time 2019 Blues style. Another two teams who were meant to be in the lottery & Philly have some exciting youth. But I won’t bet against Sid. Pens in 6

SABRES/BRUINS - Two teams I didn’t think would make it at the seasons start, but I’ve become a Buffleiver. Boston have an elite scorer in Pasta, a top level goalie with Swayman & not a huge amount else, but they play with heart & grit. Won’t be enough against a very good Sabres team. Sabres in 6.

Here’s my playoff series bite sized breakdowns (saving Habs/TBL til last):
CANES/SENS - Canes take game 1 with a shutout, Sens had to work their arses off to make it and simply don’t have the talent the Canes have and will need Ullmark to stand on his head every game. Canes in 5
