Over all vol. 1 of Teen Titans is a lot of fun, though I don't think it has a ton of substance. They kept trying reinvent it constantly, making it work, and it doesn't quite all come together. But it's a dig dang daddio of a good time. Now onto the New Teen Titans, and for the good stuff apparently

More of a full fledged team member her, becoming the guardian and using Gabriel's trumpet for a bit, and I really enjoyed the briefly lived Titans west and Titans east story. It's nice they let Golden Eagel participate. Also Roy harpers band the Giant Frog is amazing, i need them to make a combat.
I did enjoy the story about the evil golden beetle, I liked the weird double bladed sword in it, someone's gotta bring that back. But this Era too ends, this time in cancelation, and when it gets revived it's back to form. Teen heroes fighting villains, saving the day, and being cool. Mal is a lot
Era is some sort of horror or magic plot, or SF tales to astonish type stories. It's not bad, but it's very of a genre I wasn't expecting from the original Teen Titans. It's not even Scooby-Doo like, which if you told me of a 70s Era teen Titans ghost story I'd expect something Scooby-Doo like.
Fun, and Mal, while I think could have been written better (he is a black character in 70s DC being written by white people who we can generously say are doing their best) is a great grounding force for the team. This leads to the third section, Titan's Mystery Theater. Almost every story in this
Perfect. They need to be yelled at. Even if they don't leave Mr.Jupiter at least they start costuming up again. This is also where they introduce Lilith and Mal (and briefly Gnarrk) and really like those two. They are fun additions, I like modern Lilith a lot and seeing her original form is a lot of
And hanging out with a strange billionaire who will guide them to become the saviors of the future. It's a cult, they join a cult, he sees Robin without his mask, he knows who Dick Grayson, which means he can know who Batman is. This is never addressed. Aqualad's reaction when he learns this is just
Brings in Hawk and Dove. (Note, I don't like hawk and dove, they kind of suck, at least from my limited time reading them) But things change when we enter the Mr. Jupiter Era, which is wild to say the least. The team abandoning their previous identities, declaring to never use their powers again,
British clothing makers, but it is very fun. It's campy, it's silly, the dialog is ridiculous to the point where I think we should all emulate it, but it definitely is of a time. The series starts to get a bit more series with the reveal of Donna Troy's back story, and the alien invasion plot that
In what is my attempt to read all of DC comics one franchise at a time, I've completed a Teen Titans vol 1 read through. Its definitely a series in like, 3-4 parts. It starts with psa style adventures for kids, teaching the children reading to respect the law and join the peace core and don't trust

Going from modern comics right back to the depths of the silver age always gives me the bends, and I forget it everytime I do it

Happy First Contact Day! Got this amazing poster made by @GeekFilter which suggests what a first contact day may look like in another universe based on the Lower Decks final season episode, “Fissure Quest.” Thank you Aaron! 🖖🏽

Reed Richards: I’m sick of events interrupting my science and family time so I’ve invented an Unnecessarily Elongated Conflict Resolution device. Sue Storm: Reed, that looks like a gun. Reed Richards: It sure does!
Second vol, especially Loeb's and Waid's work is the top, but vol 5 and 6 show the Flash still has legs and the race can still be run. Now onto the slightly convoluted history of the Titans.
Flash family work so well. My only complaint is the dangling plot thread of the other kids saved from granny goodness. Love that were getting more Fairplay, but what about the kids of Donna and Garth? Someone needs to use them. But over all my time reading the Flash has been really fun, I think the
Their most focus in this run and really feel like they are growing. I hope we get to see more of irey and jai, especially in other books. Get them on a new young justice or teen titans or something. The characters feel three dimension and real and flawed while never removing the heart that makes the
Also I really like the status quo of Wally working at Terrific's company, that's a lot of fun. And vol 6 might be even better. Spurrier's run is metaphysical and explores the universe and the speed force in really new and exciting ways, while also always keeping the focus on the family. The kids get
Is also so damn good. Wally and family taking back the reigns feels amazing. The Eclipso story is a lot of fun, the one minute war is a blast, gold beetle and omega bam man I want to see all the time, and we get to focus on Linda! She is back and ready to be the lightning rod of the whole franchise.
If doomsday clock went off as planned we never would have gotten heroes in crisis and having to push Wally away from the main book for so long. But then we wouldn't have gotten some top tier Barry stuff. The Williamson run is amazing, top tier Flash stuff. And the post darks knight heavy metal stuff
Gets over, which works really well. There's also the fascinating tension between larger DC universe and vol 5. It feels like the Flash was central to the rebirth/doomsday clock storyline, and it's really interesting seeing that story get delayed and how it effects the Flash. I honestly think that
Barry having to deal with an expanding Flash family and not handling it great, at least at first. The run plays with Barry being a primarily solo act, wanting connection but rarely finding it, which builds perfectly on his pre-crisis characterization. It's something he improves in but never really
I have finished the Flash! Volume 5 is great, the Williamson run is some of the best Barry Allen stuff out there, a marked improvement over vol 4. Again vol 4 isn't bad but vol 5 just feels better. It's almost like placing Barry into the world of the Flash that grew and established while he was away
Emma Frost: I started the Massachusetts Academy because of my love for education but I won’t deny that I also assumed a high pressure school for rich kids would get me all the cocaine I could confiscate. Unfortunately my students have resorted to things like “prescription medication” and “studying.”
