Salmon Farming Is Factory Farming Salmon farming is sold as a solution.

Salmon farming isn’t reducing fishing. It’s fuelled by it. Wild fishes are caught, ground into feed, and funnelled through farmed salmon. Same system, new branding.

Named: the salmon farms rapped over animal welfare In the past the UK Animal and Plant Health Agency kept secret the salmon farms it censured on animal welfare grounds. Now it has changed its mind.

Yes. The Ferret deserve
credit for their work on salmon farming in Scotland

Check out the trailer below. Goggle-box for climate and nature briefings... genius!

You'll be able to join over 1000 screenings across the country (more details to come).

Seems UK state 'regulator' isn't regulating GB News. 'If any regulated broadcaster had a roster of left wing Labour, Green Party, SNP and Sinn Féin presenters pushing their agenda night after night, there would be uproar.'

Our native & ancient trees need more protection. It's too easy to fell or damage them - there are gaps in existing protections. New legislation could close these gaps & protect Scotland's future native trees. Our priorities for the next Scottish Government ➡️ buff.ly/e2KzGBr #MairTreesPlease

‘A cruel penalty’: disabled people face lower benefit payments if conditions not deemed lifelong Forthcoming rules mean debilitating conditions may not meet strict ‘severe and lifelong’ criteria, say charities

In April, the health part of universal credit to be halved (or frozen for new claimants) unless their condition is terminal or severe & lifelong. Multiple sclerosis, learning disabilities, bipolar, Parkinson’s, ME may not meet new eligibility criteria. More cruelty towards people with disabilities.

Next week’s disability cuts will make people destitute – and you might not understand how bad they are until it’s too late | Frances Ryan If new claimants don’t meet strict criteria, they’ll lose half of the health element of universal credit. Don’t ignore that: in life’s lottery, that could easily be you, says Guardian columnist France...

“That the universal credit cut will affect new claimants says the quiet part out loud: anyone can become disabled or ill. And every time governments slash the safety net, we can’t know if it’ll be us, a loved one or stranger who will fall through it.”

I know people don't like to think of bad things happening, but anyone could become chronically ill or disabled at any time, through no fault of their own, no matter how healthy they are

It shouldn't only be disabled people having to fight the government all the time, it's up to all of us

“Everyone dies in the end. It’s just how you go, right?”

That’s what Reform UK’s Housing and Infrastructure spokesperson Simon Dudley said of the Grenfell fire tragedy.

72 people were killed, trapped in their homes, in a building that should have been safe.

"You can't be ill, because it's too expensive, so we're declaring you not ill" appears to be official Labour Party policy now.

5 candidates have quit, the Reform UK Scottish launch was a mess, Tory candidate saturation, the manifesto sums don’t add up, the homophobic joke, the recycled dodgy campaign poster…

Malcolm Offord is a failure.

Reform UK candidate expresses admiration for Oswald Mosley and wants to keep migrants in slave labour These are the kinds of people Reform is putting up for election.

It's a complete mystery. Why does what Farage assures us is a centre right party attract so many far right nutters?
Maybe one day we'll find the answer.

If you intend to vote Scottish Green this May, please be aware of potential voter confusion on the peach coloured regional list ballot paper.

Take care to mark your X next to the actual Scottish Greens and not another party which has 'GREEN' dominating their ballot insignia.

….And on top of that, they are huge energy-guzzlers.

Each electronic billboard consumes the same as 6 average UK homes.

That’s nearly 6,000 homes, just from Sheffield billboards alone…

Watershed Pollution Map, adjusted to show crossover between fossil fuel extraction and Marine Protected Areas

Watershed Pollution Map, adjusted to show crossover between fossil fuel extraction and Marine Protected Areas

It is crazy that anyone would even consider allowing this practice in waters they call 'protected'.

Incredibly, oil + gas drilling is also permitted in many MPAs, as shown here on our Watershed Pollution Map.

'Protected' is doing some heavy lifting.

Bottom trawling is so damaging to marine life nothing but a total ban on this fishing practice is sufficient & in the feebly-governed UK, incl Scotland, we can at least ban this plague of life in our waters in ALL MPAs!
UKGov's plan to ban practice in *parts* of 41 MPAs is nowhere near enough!

Is anyone surprised?

A voluntary certification scheme to limit gas leaks from US production sites isn't working

BP & ExxonMobil are among producers wanting certification to comply with EU rules

Yet gas-imaging cameras revealed “huge emissions” at many sites
