one of my favorite interactions was someone asking “do you have any books about fairies and their rules” and I was like “absolutely, yes, you asked the right librarian for this” and then that person showed up again a couple weeks later because they enjoyed my recommendation so much and wanted more

A big part of the job is recommendations. It becomes natural when your job is finding information for people all day. Literally just go into any library, say "Idk what to read". We'll help you out!
