Setting takes place in eerie and foggy highway with looming dark clouds. In the center of the highway is Ultra Beast called Stakataka a walking sentient pile of brick crossing through the highway with both sides filled with pine trees. On the road a lone car stops in front Stakataka hoping they won't be crushed by this alien creature.

Dozens of cops arrested peaceful protesters who said a prohibited phrase in the course of legitimate political speech. Incredibly fucked, but unsurprising - the enforcers of genocidal settler-colonies stick together

Get out there tomorrow, King George Square, 1pm, for a march on Parliament House 🍉

Hey, Canadians? If you want to help British people, and I am not joking about this:

Make this "the reason" that Poilievre ate shit. Any time you get asked by a survey, say "honestly, it was his rhetoric on LGBTQ issues that turned me off him."

Other world leaders pay attention to how this plays.

Donate to Pomegranate's Bottom Surgery Recovery!, organized by Pomegranate Margulis Hi! I'm Pomegranate (Meg for short), and I'm so blessed to have my bottom … Pomegranate Margulis needs your support for Pomegranate's Bottom Surgery Recovery!

Hey loves! They're turning my shit inside out next month (aaaAAAAA) and I'm gonna need a little help — it would mean sooo much if you could support and share my fundraiser to help this fruity little doll afford supplies and food and rent while in recovery and unable to work 💕

@bitrotai "It" doesn't "believe" anything. You're inventing a guy because it creates a convincing reflection and anthropomorphization is the easiest metaphor for your brain to deal with.

Use mathematical language instead of anthropocentric language to undo the damage this is doing to your social brain and your mathematical reasoning.

Read the neuroscience:

- Don't call it AI: Call it a chatbot.
- It doesn't learn, it aligns.
- It doesn't make mistakes, it has error (the function of a thing is what it does: if it has error, then it is erronious).
- It doesn't say, it outputs.
- It doesn't think, it responds.
- It doesn't reason, it loops.
- It doesn't believe, it tricks.
- If it doesn't work, its wrong.
- It doesn't hallucinate, it fails.
- It is just fancy text prediction, with some other tricks thrown in.
- Stop looking for 'someone': There's nobody there.

The same way books aren't haunted even if you can hallucinate people because of pigment and language, you too, are hallucinating.

Hallucination of the chatbot is not an error state, it is the natural state.

Think of the cyberneticists (Norbert Weiner, Stafford Beer) when they talk about how we select an algorithm to solve a problem:
The purpose of a thing is what it does, regardless of intent. If it doesn't work, its wrong.
If it is fundamentally wrong, the algorithm is fundamentally mismatched to the problem.

You presumably did comp-sci. Act like it.

"I train AI for a living. It's getting dumber": youtu.be/xSCQqa3IpQY

Yes no shit its getting worse:
- garbage in garbage out
- it only creates garbage
- so the average garbage gets worse

I presume the video will be deleted (pixelation censorship isn't destructive, so this isn't anonymizing at all)

hot take but people complaining about pokedex cuts are not going to be playing with every single pokemon and general audience benefits from a limited selection, if the intent of the game is a new adventure

The “Calvin’s dad explains two types” meme, inspired by a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon.

Clockwise from top left:
1) Calvin’s dad walks into frame to find Calvin trying to operate a record player. The dad says: “There are only two industries left in America: gambling, and fraud.”

2) The dad shows where the record goes, and how to turn on the player, while Calvin watches. Dad says “Derivatives? Gambling. AI? Fraud. Video games? Gambling. Social media? Fraud.” Calvin says “yeah”.

3) With one hand open palm up, Calvin’s dad cheerfully explains to Calvin out of frame below him, “The stock market looks like gambling, but it’s actually fraud.”

4) In bed in a dark room, Calvin clutches at his pillow, eyes wide in existential terror. There is no text in the panel.

Wild that Altman is being sued by his sister for repeated sexual abuse and that doesn’t come up in basically every conversation about him. I get that it’s alleged but if that shit was happening to someone else I feel like that would come up, particularly if that person had a history of lying a lot.

The Pixar braintrust needs to go.They bragged about their storytelling innovations and creative freedom in the late 90s-early 2000s but now seem wildly out of touch. They refuse to admit that new people with diverse ideas, people who are NOT THEM, should be taking control of the creative reins.
