Come, here is the map. Shall we divide our right
According to our threefold order ta’en?

This sidesteps all court debate about what numbers are “too unfair” or “arbitrary” in favor of “strictly better”. It also makes an originalist(!) argument - redistricting is intended to make our government more representative, so if it doesn’t, it’s unconstitutional. Pre-built to survive SCOTUS.
If a census shows the districts have grown worse it triggers a redistricting and if the party in power can’t pass a legal map in 90 days, the next largest party’s first legal map becomes law; if they can’t propose one in 90 days, ANY legal map proposed in session becomes law.
My gerrymandering policy dream is a “representation ratchet”. An amendment specifies the 3-5 metrics by which a “representative” district will be judged and says that no redistricting is legal that doesn’t improve at least one while leaving the others not worse.
Saving myself precious free time every week by disregarding every headline that begins with "Trump Says" because he says a lot of things but does comparatively few of them
A road sign reading "RIGHT LANE MUST RIGHT LEFT"
A road sign which reads "LEFT LANE MUST LEFT LANE"
You have two choices here
I almost never use straight-up "chat mode" in the web UI for any of the models. OpenAI's "DeepResearch" mode (aka "don't bullshit me bro") is so much more reliable, I very nearly don't understand why they have other modes. (The other modes are cheaper and people don't know/care.)

My collections notices should all stop soon, although a full recovery to pre-debt postal volume is expected to take months. That's assuming that the man who died recently really was my rich uncle, and that he has indeed left me a fortune which will be deposited in my bank account next month.
This guy got on a raft in the middle of the ocean with Navy divers paddling him out to a still-steaming reentry capsule, and clambered in with his camera because the folks back home deserved to see this with their own eyes.
NASA astronaut Christina Koch sits in an U.S. Navy MH-60S Seahawk attached to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 23 on the flight deck of the San Antonio Class amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26) after returning from space on Apr. 10, 2026.
This picture of Astronaut Christina Koch after the Artemis landing is frankly incredible and beautiful.
Those are my shoes Give them back You are a dog They don't even fit
Almost every app has a manager or team who gets paid more if you look at your phone when they make it go "BWEEP". None of those people care about your life, your focus, your priorities, or your health. They want more BWEEPs on as compelling a schedule as possible, because that makes them rich.
No more push notifications. You decide when you need your phone, not the other way around. You can trim it down to "another human in your contacts has texted you" so that you can be available to friends. You don't need to shape your habits around a SW product manager's engaged-daily-users score.
For the folks I've met to live next to the IC, getting the technical piece right matters a lot, precisely because FISC evaluates programs (not warrants) and they'll grill the Agency on whether they've measured false positives, what safety nets they built, etc. - and those answers have to be strong.
You're right in general, but the technical configuration of an LLM-enabled question-answering system is going to impact its accuracy/precision/recall a lot. "Fed it transcripts" (into the running context, esp. if they're long ones) is risky and error-prone. There's better & more reliable ways.
The paper that generated this finding is amazing, if you haven’t actually read it
No, they didn't switch - but they picked the Calvert to be the pant-seams detailing. They could have done either one... but they picked a side.
Extremely hot take: all the teams are dropping uniforms with baroque detailing in the stitching, pant seams, etc. because each additional process makes it harder for counterfeit jersey sales to deliver a "real-looking" product.
- Not sure the differences will show up on TV
- Don't love losing the drop shadow on the numerals but yes to better typography
- Appreciate most of the attn to detail
- Choosing the Calvert crest (vice the Crossland / cross bottony) for the pant details is a flex
- New black helmet is a stinker
An ordinary consumer like me! Both of us seem reasonably and authentically confused about how Tomi is using Ralph Lauren’s valid and protectable mark, in conjunction with the sale of goods that are not Ralph Lauren’s! Using such a distinctive mark for goods that are so similar is confusing.
Jort Chee pee tee? Is this anything?
It's a perfect double feature with Princess Bride, because it's so clear that it authentically loves the tropes and steers into the skid and does not care or acknowledge the idea of "corny". It just loves its genre with its whole heart, revs its engines twice, loud, and takes off, and doesn't stop.
Quote post with something good that lasted longer than the Confederacy (February 1861-May 1865)
Machine With Concrete (1992-Present) and the University of Queensland Pitch Drop Experiment (1927-present). Each of the ten recorded pitch drops outlasted the Confederacy.
I can't find the quote, but I recently read something that said approx. "the function of elite schools is to graduate a few very smart students, and a few very rich students, in the hopes that people start to confuse the two".
<whispers quietly into a tiny glass vial>
"wanna grow
grow up to be
be a debaser"
