This is my favourite thing to ever have happened on Twitter alongside Ed Balls day.

It’ll be chaos

She goes further and says “I don’t think putting this at the feet of Keir Starmer makes any sense to me” firmly blames Morgan McSweeney and the process.

It will be on the Andrew Marr show. Just seen this retweeted by Marr

Because they feed off instability and drama. I mean he may still be screwed. It’s all down to the Labour MPs

Ah I think it might be in an interview with Andrew Marr so not been on yet must have been a clip of what’s to come. I shall be listening. She also did an interview with Newsagents.

I was of this opinion too. I possibly still am but I do bow to Emily Thornberry who is way more across any detail than me.

She said it in an interview on LBC. I just heard it as a clip. It might be around on the internet somewhere.

Emily Thornberry says it was right Olly Robbins was sacked after she chaired the committee. I’ll take that - can’t argue with Emily Thornberry.

Just hours after chairing Olly Robbins’ testimony, Emily Thornberry says she believes the former Foreign Office boss was "bullied".

“The pressure was coming from Morgan McSweeney. He was a protege of Mandelson, he was trying to deliver him the job”.

He didn’t need to sack Olly Robbins. Seems mad that he did now.

Do you think they’re there yet?

Could be absolutely nothing. Who knows? Maybe it’s time for chaos with Ed Milliband

Don’t know but all the main secretary of states have been seen going into Number 10.

Who’s this? She’s very good

I predict something is going to happen in number 10 soon either a resignation or a challenge or a statement. But something. It’s all too quiet.

Boris Johnson was warned of Lebedev security concerns, says Cummings Boris Johnson's former adviser says the PM was told of security concerns over his peerage plans.

Remember the endless hysteria when Boris J put Lebedev into the HoL despite intelligence chiefs warning against it? No me either. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-poli...

Because I run a business and we don’t post anymore as a business but do need to keep up to date with things that annoyingly aren’t elsewhere. It’s still the quickest way to get news. So I lurk. Sadly bluesky is still a long way behind.

It’s exactly the argument. Mandelson should never have been appointed. Never pushed through and never been anywhere near government. That remains the biggest issue. Everything else is just noise.

I think he was a disaster in terms of who he was. Starmer has said he regrets appointing him. It was a big mistake.

18 hours ago 0 0 1 0

The main issue seems to be Starmer appointed an absolute disaster in Mandelson and sacked someone who seems fairly reasonable in Olly Robbins. The rest is noise. Not sure he should resign, but the furore around it might force him to. Who knows? Mainly we just want government to run the country.

This photo shows why no one has a clue what’s going on. The media reporting two completely different stories. Lol

Over on the dark side X they’re celebrating that Robbins testimony brings down Starmer. There’s no coming back from this. It’s damning etc. it’s all so confusing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

21 hours ago 4 1 3 0

Also am I missing something? Robbins keeps insisting Mandelson passed the vetting - so what’s the issue?

21 hours ago 1 0 0 0

This is my thinking. Ollie Robbins keeps repeating that Mandelson didn’t fail vetting so what’s the issue then? Why didn’t Starmer just say Mandelson didn’t fail it and leave Ollie Robbins in post.

21 hours ago 1 0 1 0

But isn’t that any workplace when they want something done? It’s his job to make sure he still does the job well. The “pressure” argument is a red herring.

Did Emily Thornberry just say “just fucking approve it”?

21 hours ago 2 0 3 0

Importantly that neutralises the accusation of lying, or deliberately misleading the Commons.

The remaining criticism is that Starmer and No10 put too much pressure on FCDO to appoint Mandelson no matter what.

22 hours ago 55 10 14 2

Yet Robbins has no evidence of this and also it’s quite a weak argument when you’re a top civil servant to say the pressure was too much.

22 hours ago 12 0 2 1

And that’s the main point. The rest is just fluff “oh I was under pressure” yet no records. “He’d already been announced” so what? Anyone can be sacked at any point. As we know.
