Update: he saw the vet and is doing ok, needs lots of rest and some drugs to keep the swelling down. My partner is staying home with him all day and building barricades so he doesn't try to jump on or off anything for a week or so.

Here is the latest update picture. He is now able to go for little walks, he took himself to the kitchen for a drink without too much struggle or visible pain.

He will be ok. It's happened before and it took a few days to bounce back, but he's a strong little guy

Prayers up for Chapter today please. He's had a bad lumbar spine since we adopted him, most likely from abuse. He had an episode this morning where it became too painful for him to stand. He's ok now but getting checked out. Not the first flare up but they're spooky and we hate to hear him yelp :(

Gave it two weeks of tries and then swore it off forever. It had neat ideas but making every upgrade have a (sometimes very harsh) downside too made every run a glass cannon run eventually, which is not very enjoyable when it's asking for literal hours of commitment per run!

Returnal. A roguelike with good gunplay turned into "what do you MEAN runs are hours+ long and punish any play that isn't perfect the entire time." There is almost no way to recover a run in a death spiral and the gameplay loop became "that death felt cheap and unavoidable, gonna put this down now"
