This is a frequently used tactic of abusive, narcissistic individuals. Project faults and fling false accusations on the victims/"enemies" and then it is harder to use it against them. See also rigging the election, they screamed "stop the steal," yet THEY were the ones doing the stealing.
Note they flung around Biden's natural aging "decline," occasional stutter, and wrong words all the time. Why? Projection and deflection. Makes it more difficult, if not impossible, to call out the worse, and obviously lacking and declining mental acuity of the (puppet) Terrorists-in-Chief.
