Almost none of his key people made it to his office. Instead he installed ex UCP staffers and hangers-on in major positions. He actually never even sent his team a thank you card after the election. It was very much “thank God that’s over” when it came to dealing with his progressive advisors.

Promise very broken. When I worked on Mayor Farkas’ campaign, we were clear that the direction would be repeal with replacement. Instead we have repeal and not even a hint of a plan for replacement. We all advised against this. Hard to watch him flip flop like this. He needs policy guidance STAT.

Calgary transit is unsafe. I refuse to accept that we have no means to fix this problem. Acquiesce to the provincial government which has crucified safe supply in this province is a weak move from our council. And that doesn’t help the situation.

We have a mayor who campaigned on safety. You’ve been captain of the ship for nearly 6 months @jeromyyyc.bsky.social . Where is the transit safety you promised? When will my kids be safe on the transit my taxes pay for but we can’t actually let our kids use because it is such a gong show. Fix this!

They asked for a description and said they would send someone to the next station. No offer of help to her. No “are you okay”. No “do you need help or assistance”. Nothing. No one was at the next stop to stop this man who was behaving erratically and hostile. He needed help. She needed help. /2

My 16 year old daughter took the train from Chinook Station to 69 st Station today. She was followed, spat on, and frightened within an inch of her life by a man who threatened her and another young woman. He hurled slurs. He circled them. He scared the shit out of them. My kid texted transit help/1

When Redford was confronted with her entitlement, Smith hit her hard.

Redford took responsibility & apologized.

(Didn’t pay the money back tho)

Smith has been confronted with Tylenot™️, flights, hotels, lavish gifts & more.

Her response?

This juxtaposition is WILD!

It is an incredibly weak and short sighted response. I couldn’t be more disappointed if I tried. Disappointed that he seems more interested in showering with a radio host for likes rather than actually get serious and get down to work. This is maddening.

Totally serious energy from a totally serious mayor who, I hear, wants to seriously bring back “his worship” when being addressed. 🙄 JFC.

So grateful for Amanda’s mentorship, leadership, and friendship. Her insight is invaluable and my kiddo was thrilled to talk to Amanda this week to learn all about communication strategy, campaigns, and what true community leadership looks like. Watch out @calgary.ca - these young women are READY!

My husband translated his Mandarin materials. We translated numerous languages. We did it with volunteers. On a shoe string. He could solve this problem if he employed the people who stood by him through that campaign instead of the people he is told he “should” employ.

Odd that the mayor hasn’t said much given that he campaigned on safer streets 🤔

Calgary teens are sending out 50–100 job applications for entry-level work and hearing nothing back. Youth unemployment runs well above the overall rate. Yet the Mayor’s new advisory council (stacked with insiders, including his former Chief of Staff) doesn’t include a single youth voice. 🤔🤔

Power doesn’t always corrupt—sometimes it just reveals who was willing to forget the hands that lifted them.

There are some suits in Calgary’s downtown who would be wise to remember this adage. The people you surround yourself will always speak volumes.

80% of Calgarians opposed blanket rezoning. Dozens of communities pushed back. Thousands spoke up. But some progressives are still outraged that mayoral candidates are listening? Maybe it’s time to say we need a more focused and dynamic solution to housing than rezoning. #yyccc #yyc2025

Big weekend as Calgary hosted the Provincial Fencing Championships! Huge kudos to @FencingCalgary for making the sport affordable/accessible: providing gear/rentals so more kids can get started. As a parent, I know how lucky we are. Let’s keep opening doors for all kids in sport. More access needed!

As part of our ever expanding Alberta Disadvantage, we’ve already moved to paying for COVID-19 vaccines. Danielle’s trying to pull us out of Canada, one service at a time.

I didn't realize it's rare for folks who are not first responders to participate. Very cool that @jeromyyyc.bsky.social is welcomed to be a part of this. And challenging Chief Dongworth up all 57 floors!

Give me a mayor who takes what communities say and think seriously.

A dark blue campaign graphic titled “Policy Brief” with a subtitle:
Built for Belonging – “A vision for a safer Calgary” (with "safer" underlined in blue).

Below, the text reads:
"When we invest early—in mental health, housing, mentorship, and prevention—we not only reduce crime, we build opportunities, we keep families together, and we strengthen Calgary at its roots" (bolded and underlined in red).

Jeromy continues:
"As mayor, this is my vision for a safer Calgary—from Dover to downtown, from playgrounds to train platforms" (highlighted in yellow and blue).

The page ends with the multicolour campaign website: OURPATHFORWARD.CA.

As Calgary prepares to welcome up to a million new residents, we must choose: keep reacting to crime—or lead with action that prevents it.

I’m releasing Built for Belonging, a 25-point plan for a safer Calgary.

Heading to our first city wide fencing tournament. We’re excited - and deeply aware that this opportunity isn’t accessible to every kid. Sport should build community, not reinforce barriers. We need to talk about the cost of participation and who’s getting left out. #youthsports #fencing #yycsports

Alberta doesn’t have a ‘sexually explicit books in schools problem’ — it has a fear-of-students-thinking problem.

Removing books about 2SLGBTQ+ lives, race, and identity is about control, not care.
Kids deserve books that reflect reality, not censorship. #abed #LetThemRead
