Many major US cities are realizing that building 99% of their infrastructure around cars is dooming them long term. LA is building rail, Seattle is expanding rail, Austin is investing in rail.
Dallas, Boston, Kansas City, Chicago and more are all expanding rail options.

A reminder that metro Atlanta leads the nation in single-family rental homes owned by corporations.
25% of these homes are owned by corporations that owned more than 1000 homes.

If Altanta built out the proposed beltline rail, over 40% of the city of Atlanta would be within a 10-15 min walk from rail. This barely considers all the connectors and cross-city options that have been suggested to complement the system.

MN Judge: "ICE has violated ~100 court orders."

ICE: "We're acting on orders of Kristy Noem"

Kristi Noem: "Everything I've done, I've done at the direction of Trump & Miller"

Nuremberg Trials: "I was just following orders is not a valid defense to criminal behavior"

My friends, we are in a serious constitutional crisis. The government is racially profiling, suppessing free speech, killing our own people in the streets— and lying about every fact along the way. If we don’t use our natural talents and voices to say “no,” then what’s the point of law at all?

ASL interpreters who work in the arts (concerts, opera, theatre, etc) deserve to be valued as artists too. it takes so much skill to be this good at capturing the FEEL of music beyond just translating the meaning of the text and it’s an invaluable accessibility service

Everyone can organize.

Everyone can contribute to social movements.

Everyone can do something, from somewhere.

None of this is about "professionalism" or policy"expertise. That is counterinsurgency, demobilizing logic.

Everyone can organize and has something to offer.

Unwavering, Unyielding, Uncompromising: Ethel Mae Matthews | Atlanta History Center For more than fifty years, Ethel Mae Matthews worked tirelessly for greater welfare rights for Atlanta's poor and disabled.

Black history is Georgia history!
Today I'm thinking about Ethel Mae Mathews, a fierce advocate for welfare rights and opponent to the Atlanta Way. A small part of her career fighting for justice, she worked to increase school integration in APS.
