Here is an image of the three competitors each week, for three weeks. I love the custom "jockey silks" the KHS designed to represent each article! (Mine has a rooster sitting on eggs, an image based on anti-woman suffrage propaganda.)

Update: Police chief condemns security at Idaho town hall, refuses sheriff’s request Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White condemned the actions of private security guards who pulled a woman from her chair and dragged her out of an Idaho legislative town hall.

Local newspaper's coverage shows the county sheriff told the private security guys to "get her" and was involved. Kudos to the chief of police for defending the woman's constitutional rights and publicly disagreeing with how the sheriff handled things.

Boadicea and Her Daughters Statue, London Information on the iconic sculpture of Boadicea and Her Daughters Statue in Westminster, London, with a history of the sculpture and visiting information.

Ah! I did not know that detail (titian-haired). I thought perhaps her name was a clever reference to Boudicca's infamous chariot wheels and her fierceness. 😊

Amazing kitty! She is beautiful and clearly tenacious. I love her name, and, coincidentally, my teenager and I were just talking about Boudicca on Monday.

We rescued her from a storm drain late one night in August (she was 1 lb. and 4 weeks old), and she has been one of the best things to happen to our family in the last year. I love this little weirdo! 🥰

Wow! This is great. So rousing!

The next time I do patriotic music in a history or Am Studies class (where we consider patriotic songs from the US and compare with other countries', as well as "patriotic" pop music), this could be an interesting addition. Thanks for sharing. 😊

During these challenging times, Moxie the cat wants to remind you that proper hydration is important to good self-care.

My kitten dipped her paws in her water dish and left these markings on a pad of paper... is it art? Is it a coded message? What do you think she is trying to say??? 😸

Percival Everett, Author of ‘James,’ Wins National Book Award for Fiction Jason De León received the nonfiction award for “Soldiers and Kings: Survival and Hope in the World of Human Smuggling.”

Delighted that Percival Everett's book "James" won the National Book Award for fiction. Imaginative, funny, gut-wrenching, dramatic -- really, an incredible book. If you haven't read it yet, you should.

Mutinous Women - How French Convicts became founding Mothers of the Gulf Coast YouTube video by Fédération des Alliances Françaises USA

Joan DeJean's Mutinous Women (2022) traces 132 women wrongfully arrested and exiled in 1719 to the New World; they would become founders of New Orleans. This book is a tremendous accomplishment and well worth reading. 💙📚 #history #WomensHistory #AmericanHistory
