TOS enterprise bridge is pictured with 4 crewfolks, including Spock, Uhura, a redshirt, and Kevin the guy who sang annoyingly over the PA system that one time. Kevin and Spock are talking, and Kevin looks like that thing when a 5 year old is mad and drooping their arms all sulky like. Closed caption reads, "UNIVERSAL SUFFERING."

The last 10 years have proven we’re ruled by an autonomous elite that couldn’t care less about legitimizing itself before the people, or even its own founding fantasies. It just pushes ahead with its plans and hopes it works out.

The entire West is hitched to Israel’s chariot, but no one really knows how this genocide helps them. Classic bureaucracies clinging to projects that make no sense. So we wait for Israel’s next war to sink itself deeper. Against Hezbollah, using Syrian jihadis as cannon fodder in the Bekaa Valley?
Saw Elon’s announcement about the new party and I couldn’t stop laughing. Contemporary politics is a joke, it’s not my fault 🤷♂️

I can’t find a more logical and level-headed perspective than Chomsky’s on Israel, Iran, Palestine, and the role of the U.S.

Trump looks set on war (for now). Expect the wishful thinking to spread: “Iran's out of missiles”, “They’re low on launch platforms”, “A few bombs and it’s over.” All predictable. Even the sacrificial carrier is in motion: the USS Nimitz, the oldest in the fleet, is headed for the Gulf. ETA 5-6 days
But no one wants to die for Israel. Not liberals, not MAGA. China signals support for Iran. If escalation comes, it won’t end in victory. The monster has no off switch. Its last move may be to break the nuclear taboo. And still lose.
Israel once served as the West’s enforcer against Arab nationalism. But decades of occupation, war, and apartheid led to strategic dead ends. Post-9/11 wars broke U.S. power. Now Tel Aviv gambles on dragging Washington into a lost war with Iran.
Israel’s war on Gaza shattered the illusion of moral exceptionalism, that it was a victim-state defending itself. AIPAC openly threatens dissenting politicians. Protesters are smeared. Europe complies. But global opinion shifts and even in the U.S. cracks are showing across left and right.
Israel emerged from the ruins of the old world as a colonial project. The Holocaust taught survivors brutal lessons: "survive at any cost". But instead of targeting their oppressors, European Jews displaced and attacked others, with help from global powers. A tragedy repeating tragedy.
Gramsci said: "The old world is dying, the new cannot be born; in the interregnum, a great variety of morbid symptoms appear." But monsters exist in both the old and the new. It’s only in between that we see them clearly, unclouded by ideology.
A Borg cube is pictured in space. Just sitting there. I don't think it's at warp because the stars aren't long lines, just spots. Closed caption reads, "It's been a long week."
I'd prefer if the AI era marked the semicolon's semicolon comeback, but alas, it's just a dashing return of the dash—oh well! Next time; hopefully!
If we can't think for ourselves, if we're unwilling to question authority, then we're just putty in the hands of those in power.
I promise to question everything my leaders tell me. I promise to use my critical faculties. I promise to develop my independence of thought. I promise to educate myself so I can make my own judgements.

I’m cognitive enough to know the difference of USSR with Russia. Cognitive enough to acknowledge the death of 24 million ppl who fought the nazis. Some people aren’t, I know. It is what it is.
Oh another one with anger issues
Yeah if you are a nazi, makes sense.

Star Trek The Next Generation scene. We're close in on Picard, but we're not on ship. We're in a darkly lit area and there's some half guy half robot looking fellas standing stationary behind him with lots of tubules coming in and out of them. They don't look pretty. Back to Picard, he looks sad and determined but also resigned. Also sweaty. Closed caption reads, "Your archaic cultures are authority driven."
