Particle physics at CERN requires large-scale equipment. 2,000 silicon modules, each with half a million pixels, will form a new part of the CMS detector. 💫 A PSI research group is coordinating an international consortium for this purpose.

This workshop/hackathon was a success on multiple levels. Bringing the particle physics, bioinformatics, and HPC communities together to work was also an excellent knowledge exchange opportunity which gave the HEP community lots of new ideas and plans to improve things across the LHC experiments.
An exciting first day of the #SnakemakeHackathon2025 at @cern.bsky.social is ending now. I have already merged several pull requests and many very productive teams have formed!

We decided to use CDS since HEPData has a 50 MB storage limit. The records with Combine statistical model are findable through HEPData though: www.hepdata.net/search/?q=an...
There's a "new CDS" that's called/hosted as repository.cern, which has been under development for the last couple of years. We're using it for publishing the CMS statistical models. I can put you in touch with the team if interested, they are open for feature requests.

Ten years of @cmsexperiment.bsky.social Open Data and since the birth of the @cern.bsky.social Open Data Portal! It's incredibly important to release #OpenData early in the lifetime of an experiment to preserve all the knowledge, learn how to do it in the first place, and really make them usable.
Particle physicists rely heavily on statistics in our research; we deal with large amounts of data. The Combine tool in CMS is the go-to statistical tool for CMS. #CMSPaper 1303 describes Combine using the statistics of the Higgs boson discovery 👉 buff.ly/3ywtCPz
