Today is a good day for children!
450,000 will be lifted out of poverty thanks to the end of the two-child limit.
We're celebrating this along with 17 other orgs with an advert in The Times.
The advert has been funded by hundreds of small donations from people supporting @38degrees.bsky.social.
Off again, Belfast this time. BPNS spring conference on Friday, but going early for some important online meetings tomorrow
It’s a lovely morning in Sleaford
Spent a lot of time with this guy the last few days, as well as moving boxes, putting up smoke alarms and all sorts as we moved offices. The role of a Chief Exec in the community sector is pretty varied. Hoping that tomorrow I can actual crack on with my emails which have spiralled out of control.
A massive thanks to those who took part for sharing their experiences of #MMN. Definitely going to keep these going on a monthly basis
Best bit of my job is talking to people, particularly people with lived experience. Following on from my must do better blog we held our first MMN online Get Together tonight for @inflamneurouk.bsky.social Some really good discussion with a focus on both the burden of the condition & of treatment
We don’t need more food banks, we need change.
Repost if you agree.

Merry Christmas @londonlorelei.bsky.social
Good start to the Christmas break. Awake earlier than on a work day with a cracking idea for @inflamneurouk.bsky.social I find it difficult to turn off at the best of times, but at least I managed to write this idea down
Excellent thread on the #MentalHealth review announced today. I hope @drsarahhughesceo.bsky.social is right but I fear we will still have a limbo around MH
The medical model at its very worst. The issue isn’t there are too many people who need support with their #MentalHealth, it’s that people don’t receive support for Mental Health - www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
My thoughts on the budget 👇
‘They could have got someone for £50k’. No they couldn’t! Why do people (particularly on the right) get so het up about senior management salaries. Who would (and could) run a council for £50k. Nonsense - www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Great place for a meeting in town.
So proud to be supported by these wonderful women in Berlin yesterday
A massive thanks to everyone who joined us in the room and online. A day full of laughter, tears, and energy as we celebrated 40 years of impact.
I got to do some proper showing off on Saturday as it was the @inflamneurouk.bsky.social AGM and Big Get Together in Manchester. An incredible day with the Inflammatory Neuropathies community, our amazing Trustees and Founder, and a whole group of friends of the charity. 1/2
Would this apply to violent protests outside hotels in Epping as well as peaceful protests in London? - www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
This is a humanitarian crisis, and we aren’t intervening. IVIg is readily available in the UK, but not in many other countries, particularly Gaza.
We need to be better, we need to do more.
This isn’t a political post, it’s about people
This appears to be the result of having no access to clean water. Many deaths are of children. Issues are exasperated as the principle treatment (IVIg, a very expensive treatment made from plasma) is not available.
This story has been circulating around for a while, but this story in the Independent is the most mainstream source. The World Health Organisation are reporting multiple cases including deaths in Gaza caused by Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Short 🧵 www.independent.co.uk/news/world/m...
A 10km run in Denver and a walk around downtown in heat which wasn’t suitable for either running or walking
Off to America for the GBS/CIDP Foundation International Symposium in Denver. Two first for me. USA and a Symposium
Interesting thing to announce in #Lincolnshire. I put in the #CareAct for the council in 2014 and it was always supposed to be strength based. It was at its heart. So what changed? Service creep, or is this really a way to make savings. Will watch with interest www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
A thing I write with. Focus on why we shouldn’t use the word ‘should’ in a contract
