The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White was brutal, but so, so, good. A book with a trans AND autistic main character, in a gothic horror setting, that I simply couldn't put down!

The surgeon said I have to increase my husband's protein intake, to speed up wound healing - I just took it upon myself to also increase his daily intake of schmoop, at the same time!

Best decision ever, was firing Audible and switching to Libro.fm - and I signed up through my favorite indie bookstore, who gets credit for everything I buy. Win-win!

When it's your 21st anniversary, and your spouse is stuck in the hospital, you make do, and instead of going out for your traditional celebratory tacos, you just bring a thermos full of meat and bags of ingredients, and have a taco picnic in their room.

Excellent Banana Bread - Rose Latz, Steve and Sue Latz Ingredients: 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 2 eggs, pinch of salt, 3 bananas, 1 and 3/4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder Combine sugar and shortening. Beat in eggs. Add mashed bananas. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and pinch of salt together. Grease load container and fill. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
