Descriptive alt text for low-vision users (1/4): I hate the idea of having disorders that I've seen plenty of people fake for attention (AuDHD, OCD, BPD) because what if it feels like I'm being performative when I'm not and I actually express symptoms of such and it is beyond my control at this point due to not being able to access help for such? I don't typically vent stuff like this or just deep internalized thoughts on this account or generally, but I have to get the point across.

It pisses me off as someone who has been trying to get help but always ending up back at square one and it does piss me off seeing people be performative about stuff like that as someone who struggles with the prior conditions mentioned, acting as if it is a cute quirky trait when it isn't and just misrepresenting it in general. All it's just doing is just harming those who happen to struggle with such.

I know it's rule of thumb that you shouldn't self-diagnose but considering my several attempts of trying to access treatment or support always ending up non-existent, I do have no other choice but to. It wouldn't be the first time I ever had to self-diagnose as I had to do it with my OCD diagnosis which was left unrecognized for at least 9 years until late last year at most. I am sure my BPD has been long undiagnosed as far as I can remember having symptoms of which I never knew was the case.

Descriptive alt text for low-vision users (4/4): Now before I sound like some hypocrite it's one thing if you actually have symptoms of a diagnosis but never got evaluated for such whether due to inaccessibility, costs, anything because not everyone has access to stuff such as resources or a therapist, whether it's a temporary solution or permanent in some circumstances. That's my opinion personally coming from that perspective. It's another if you are forcing it and/or you haven't done proper research and only going by misinformation such as stereotypes and stigmatisation around it. So in short I hate when people act like they care about certain topics especially regarding something as serious as mental illness/disorders as someone with a plethora of disorders, diagnosed or undiagnosed.
