If Spirit executes their BK plan well and focuses on fundamentals, such as improving its on-time performance, I believe they have a reasonable chance to succeed.

Most travelers are brand agnostic. Spirit provides good value. And it’s not like United is a flying palace.

If Frontier sells and delivers this product well, I think it has a chance to succeed. It if the airline really wants higher yielding passengers, it will need to add both Wi-Fi and in-seat power.

And this is a problem. Domestic first should be tangibly better than any product labeled "economy."

Frontier Airlines will install first-class seats as industry battles for high-paying flyers Frontier Airlines next year will retrofit its Airbus jetliners to include two rows of first-class seats.

#FrontierAirlines is adding first class-style seats (similar to #SpiritAirlines' Big Front Seat"). Cabin service remains same "buy on board" (for now, anyway). #airline #PaxEx #travel via @lesliejosephs.bsky.social

I remember the first time seeing the "full" quilt display on the DC Mall. I was prepared for it to be overwhelming. But nothing prepared me for when I saw a quilt made for a friend. And then another quilt for another lost friend. And then the third one. And, sadly, far too many more.

It’s Friday #avgeek #cocktail time!

Tonight we are live from #AirFrance 005, JFK-CDG, in business class, enjoying a glass of #Champagne (no vintage glass…sorry).

Wishing everyone a restful, happy, and healthy weekend.

#Braniff was fabulous. Perhaps the most stylish (though clearly not best managed) US airline ever. I miss them. #avgeek #paxex #FlyingColors

Excellent perspective in the article, Seth.

Seth, FEIW, in my experiences, I have seen those sliding gates work pretty well. They’re not perfect, and they require gate agent assistance when a group (ex: a family) with different boarding groups (parent with status, rest without) try to board together.

Friday #avgeek cocktail time!

This week, a gin & tonic in a special #TWA glass. The glass is from 2000. It was made for the #airline’s 70th anniversary & features the iconic #Lockheed Constellation.

The glass wasn’t used on board. It was given to VIPs & sold in the TWA gift catalog.

As an #avgeek, it’s nice to see that #Southwest #Airlines still uses some of its original flight numbers on DAL-HOU more than 50 years after its start.
