An update on my slow but steady progress with my test game! I apologize for never posting; classes are crazy! I'm doing well in school though. Anyway, have some before and after shots of me adding shading to the environments!

Picture of a messy cartoon desk with trash all over it. There are sticky notes all over the monitor, loose headphones on the desk, and two coffee posters hung up. One coffee poster says "Don't talk to me before I've had my COFFEE" and the other coffee poster is of an unamused cat next to a cup of steaming hot coffee.

Want a sneak peak of my test game?

Please excuse the shitty linework on this WIP, I swear I'm making this to test a mechanic, NOT my mediocre art skills ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm pivoting away from my main project for a bit to make a mini test game for a gameplay mechanic I want to implement. It will be entirely unrelated to my main project.

Wish me luck!

I originally had the idea for the game I'm currently working on 8 years ago, but at the time was convinced someone would make it soon.

No one ever did, so here I am. And I SWEAR TO GOD if someone does it now that I'm finally doing it myself I'm gonna flip a table lol

Last night I dreamed some code for my game. It's actually functional and everything. Thank you, dream me.

I'd be willing to give it a shot! My DMs should be open here.

I think the issue with this question is it's too broad, unfortunately. UI for a point and click game will differ greatly from UI for a 3D FPS, which will differ greatly for a website. Each have their own needs, so how do you teach that quickly and holistically?

Spoopy monster

Is it a good sign when you keep getting jumpscared by your own game? ๐Ÿ˜… I *know* the monster is there and is following me but every time I turn a corner and see it I jump! #IndieGame #GameDev #DarkRooms

Have you considered, though, that drawing hands is hard? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚

To the Moon is one of the best examples of this, IMO!

I'm so intimidated by cursors. I have most of my UI drawn out or planned but CURSORS???

This was legitimately one of my favorite demos. Also my first idle game. Y'all have ruined me.

With outline is way more readable!

Hmmm, I dunno, I think it looks nice honestly. It does draw attention to the rotation, so adding more sides may make it blend a bit more if you'd prefer that!
