ohh yeah I checked the reference I get what you're going for now, this elegant but slightly off kind of horror is actually really cool, especially keeping it human-looking and then layering in subtle details (like extra eyes or mouth stuff)

this is exactly how it starts, it hits different seeing your character properly visualised btw what’s her vibe?
you can also simplify the fur into bigger shape chunks instead of lots of small strands, that keeps it from turning into a pom-pom
ref sheets that balance that tend to read way better, especially if you ever use them for commissions later
what usually helps is keeping the outer shape clean and readable, and pushing most of the fluff into edges like chest, cheeks, tail etc so you still get that fluffy feel without losing the form
