It looks like the towers used to look like in Killingworth. TBF because they were pulled down thirty years ago most people won’t get the reference. Uncanny resemble though !

Let’s hope so ! 🤞

I can’t disagree. It’s what comes next that worries me just as much as what happens now. It’s the least hopeful things have felt since the takeover.

It’s hard to know what’s gone wrong. It seems like it’s due to attitude, mentality or commitment because there’s some superb football players on that list. 😕

I can only see this ending one way, unfortunately. The current incarnation of the team feels tired and disinterested.

Add Tino to that list. He also seemed to lack any sense or urgency.

That’s shocking.

Same story. Different opposition. #nufc

I just can’t see Osula being the answer but, yes, Howe does seem to depend on forwards with pace/ that can press. Hopefully my lack of faith means Osula scores a hatrick today ! 😄

Osula starting over Big Nick… I’m really not sure about that but hopefully I’m proved wrong. 😑

Definitely part of the ‘Howe in’ camp

Agreed ! 😄

Haha… I’m expecting the same. I probably deserve it but I stand by it.

Okay, I should probably wash my mouth out with soap but I can’t help hoping that the mackems win this weekend. Spurs going down would be epic.

The Odeon was class. I saw Andy Cole score a hatrick against Liverpool there

The €10bn Blind Spot: What Football's Transfer Spending Really Tells Us Two-footed Tackle cuts through the noise of transfer window hysteria and regulatory hand-wringing to ask the question nobody else is asking: are clubs actually spending wisely?

Newcastle have spent €934.7m on transfers since 2019-20, marginally more than Villa, but similarities end there

Where Villa have turned their investment into a 34% profit, #Newcastle have managed just 16%, a positive return, but one that has come at a much steeper cost

It turns out today’s game was season changing in the worst possible way 😢. That’s the end of our season - I can’t see us recovering from the results of this week and, worse still, the awful performances. For the first time since he joined us I really worry for Eddie Howe’s position.

Today is another potential season changing moment for NUFC (how many times have we said that this season?). If we beat those lot down the road the form of the Chelsea and Liverpool give genuine hope for the last 7/8 games of the season. I hope the lads show how much they are hurting at high noon.

I think you’re right about us needing strong leaders. I can’t help but think our difficulty with holding onto leads is a mentality issue. Howe knows this hence him wanting to get Burn or Trippier in the team, sometimes at the expense of better players (eg. Botman)

Tonali slapping the camera/sound man on the back 🤣

That’s generous for Gordon. He gave up the chase a couple of times today. I thought that was poor.

Blimey, I had forgotten about him. 😬God, they were awful days.

It was a poor summer but worst signing might be a stretch when we’ve signed Xisco and Giuvarch up front in the past. 😅

I mean you have to be a talent to be Germany’s number 9.

Having his name on your shirt is as good reason as any. Make sure he starts today, Eddie !

That’s a good point. It would be good for his confidence too (which is probably why Trippier was pissed off with Gordon last week).

I have a feeling that he’ll excel at the World Cup.
