When used thoughtfully, hiding buttons from assistive technology users can make your app easier to understand and quicker to navigate.
Custom Accessibility Actions expose that functionality for VoiceOver, Voice Control, and Switch Control users

"SwiftUI is accessible by default" is one of the most repeated misconceptions in iOS development. I've heard it in conference talks, accessibility reports, and job interviews.
First post on Mobile A11y in 4 years.

Screenshot of the Xarra! App Store listing. The subtitle: Turn text into audio. It says: coming soon, expected 26 Mar 2026. It offers a Get button and it discloses that it offers In-App Purchases. The icon shows an illustrated woman with blue hair surrounded by letters and document pages.
Xarra is my newest app! And you can hit the Get button now! The app will become available on the 26th of March. What is Xarra, I heard you ask? More about it in the thread 🧵

Today I learned I’m never trusting a raspberry pi for computation ever again
Honestly it’s the second best thing since the android debug bridge
That’s what Google keeps telling me
I’m here at an A.I. agent authoring event all by myself. “I’m not here to make friends” I think to myself.
Or am I…?
Accessibility is the process of making something usable and worthwhile
Dear TV, I don’t like spoilers, especially when I’m just about to start watching. Thanks.
We’re super excited to support #GameBlast26!

My book, Accessibility For Everyone, is now free and online as a website.
accessibilityforeveryone.site
The book was first published by A Book Apart in 2017 but it holds up! It covers web accessibility for designers, developers, content folks, and really everyone who works in tech.
Sure, it took me 8 months to get something working (in my spare time, mind you). But I got it. On their own or even as a pair, with all the documentation and references, they can't get a simple BLE Keyboard going.
This would be very interesting if the harm included accessibility defects
Why are we hiring so many designers?
I analysed 256 design system roles. The ratio of designers to engineers was telling. In my last team, we deliberately ran the inverse. If the biggest value comes from code, are we building design systems or just designing them?

Even AI can't get a #raspberryPi to be in portrait mode... What hope do the rest of us have?

Wait wait wait. It's 2025 and you can't extract links from cells in Google Sheets?

For GameAccess we recently took a look at Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, that launched on mobile platforms following a PC and console release in 2024, which features a wide range of accessibility options!

An app is trying to force me into a "free trial" with no mechanism to opt out. I can't complete the desired journey as a result. I do pay for use of the app already. Does anyone know where to report this kind of thing?
Meaningful conversation? Nah
There is something about the empty sincerity of "You're absolutely right!" from LLM's that is really starting to bug me...
