Would you want your loved one in a healthcare facility that isn’t safely staffed? I wouldn’t either. Safe staffing saves lives.
Thanks to Health Secretary Debra Bogen for highlighting why these standards matter.

Private equity shouldn’t be cashing in on our hospitals while families skip meals to afford care. Rep. Lisa Borowski and I introduced legislation (HB 1460) to rein it in.
Proud to bring $60,000 in state funding with Senator Hughes to the Schuylkill Center for ADA accessibility.
A community treasure, we’re working to make it more accessible for all!
Workers shouldn’t be forced into political, religious, or union-busting meetings at work. And they shouldn’t face retaliation for saying no.
When a university suggests unionizing could hurt Penn State, that’s not neutral, and it’s not consistent with its commitment not to use resources to influence the vote.
Penn State should take that and other union-busting language down and ensure the neutrality it committed to.
They told me what’s really happening at Penn State… and why they’re organizing.
Over-incarceration clogs courts, wastes money, and doesn’t stop repeat crime. Diversion programs work because they focus on accountability and the root causes of crime. My resolution studies how to expand and improve diversion across PA and it just passed the Judiciary Committee!
When government power goes unchecked, it’s the people who pay the price.
That’s why showing up matters, because silence allows harm to continue.

RFK Jr. was in Harrisburg today. I spoke at the counter-rally with other health professionals and organized labor because health coverage, food security, vaccine access, and life-saving research are being weakened.
When policies hurt patients, it’s time to speak up and change course.
Another killing this morning by federal agents in the peaceful city of Minneapolis, again in broad daylight. The President and his enablers have unleashed chaos, lawlessness, and violence in our communities in pursuit of a radical agenda to seize power and instill fear through state-sanctioned violence. We deserve safety, transparency, and answers — not continued escalations and more violence. In the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, we have introduced several bills and resolutions to limit the abuse of federal power and the militarization of civil federal agencies unfolding in real time. We will resist any attempt to normalize the chaos and terror ignited by this administration. #minneapolis #ice
Violence by federal agents in Minnesota is taking innocent lives, including ICU nurse Alex Pretti. Our PA House resolution today calls on Congress to ensure accountability comes before more funding.

Dr. King fought for dignity at work.
It’s time Pennsylvania did too.

Today’s the last day of the PA Farm Show, and its open until 5 PM, free admission, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. Fun guaranteed. 🐄🐰🎉
Late last night, someone painted racist graffiti, including swastikas, at Roxborough High School.
Let me be clear: targeting students in the middle of the night is cowardice, and it does not define us. Our community is bigger than a racist, and one who cannot even spell at that.
War requires Congress, even against ruthless dictators like Nicolás Maduro. This looks more like a power play over oil than a plan to keep Americans safe. We should be lowering costs at home, not creating crises abroad.
I spoke with @thenewrepublic.bsky.social about how Wall Street profits are closing community hospitals… and what we can do in Harrisburg to stop it.
They say “You are why we fly.”
Here’s what they’re not saying…
@unitehere.org
Pennsylvania State Rep. @tarikforpa.bsky.social (D-Philadelphia) said with the $230 million Trump wants from the DOJ, he would
-Fully fund food banks, schools after-school programs
-Rebuild libraries, rec centers and civic buildings
-Rebuild Manayunk, PA infrastructure
Apprenticeships mean good union jobs. I toured the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 Training Center today, where the PA budget invests in apprenticeships because good union careers lead to opportunity and a better future.

💵 Up to $800 back for working families.
That’s the Working PA Tax Credit.
Dr. Dalembert from CHOP explains how ⬇️
Showed my childhood friend Rep Solomon some of my favorite local spots 😋
The budget we passed together cuts taxes for small business & puts $20M to help PA’s Main Streets flourish!
Wissahickon Transit Center is now open!! 🚉
Shaped by neighbors, built by union labor, delivered by SEPTA, funded by the state.
This is real transit investment, now let’s make it permanent.
Let’s be clear—this didn’t happen by accident.
Republicans are holding the government hostage to protect billionaires and corporations while working families pay more for healthcare, rent, and groceries.
That’s the real cost of their shutdown shenanigans.
Great day knocking doors in Bucks County to get out the vote for Democrats up and down the ballot. Like our 3 Supreme Court Justices— and my brother Joe Khan for DA.
Vote YES on judicial retention on or before November 4th!!
In PA we’re doing the work to ensure our kids are going to safe schools.
My bill with Rep Fiedler, Powell and Probst will assess our public schools and help them get up to code so that all kids are healthy & safe at school.
“We shouldn’t have to rely on a gambling company to fund our transit,” Khan said. “That should be the job of our legislature, and we’ve done the hard work in the House.“
Capped off a day fighting for SEPTA funding and healthcare access on a panel hosted by Rep. Ben Waxman. SEPTA is a lifeline — and Senate Republicans need to fund it

If you believe Giant should respect workers and hire union labor, let them know.

Our community deserves better.

🚨 Roxborough neighbors: Did you know Giant is building their new supermarket at the Andorra shopping center using non-union labor?
That means local workers are being cut out of good-paying, safe jobs — while Giant profits off our community.
