here's how the "earth" article looked in 2001 when wikipedia was 3 weeks old, long before anyone realized that astronauts would someday edit the site from space :')

a screenshot from the last episode of Turn A Gundam. a large cocoon is glowing amidst a dark, hilly landscape.
finished Turn A Gundam yesterday after around a year and a half. out of every gundam series i've seen i think it's my favourite. this show just has something special to it that none of the others do. i could see myself watching it again later on and i wouldn't say that for any other 50 episode show
legend in the making

A CRT on top of a 90s PC (with floppy disk) showing the Trans Pride Flag
Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility!
We're everywhere and we're cool.
Here's the trans pride flag ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ on a mid-90s Pentium running DOS.
sure! go for it
surprisingly, i still have a screenshot from this! i remember enjoying it, even with how relatively limited mozilla hubs was. it was neat!
marathon disable scary mode
thinking about a post i saw a bit back where someone tried one of the official touhou games for the first time and said something like "i didn't expect this to be actually fun i thought these were just impossible meme games or something" and it made me feel Something. dunno what but Something.
how to play marathon normal not terrified
how to play marathon without getting so scared
Spyke's Splatoon 3 dialogue - "Oi! It's unmistakable, innit? You've got Super Sea Snails on ya! Not to be pushy, but why don't you hand 'em over, yeah?"
in the US localisation, the character Spyke is given a really stereotypical, exaggerated british tone. in the EU one he just spoke normally. this character returned in a DLC for Splatoon 3, and felt completely different from the one i remembered from the original game
Splatoon 1 was notable for me. the US localisation was wildly different from the EU version i played - there were a ton of jokes and character writing choices that were never a thing for me. Splatoon 2 & 3 came out w/ no EU localisation so some characters were super different from what i remembered
the speedrunning community was as toxic and as much of a boys club (if not more) as many others not too long ago, and the transition to it being a more queer-positive and inclusive event wasn't inevitable. GDQ's shift has been really meaningful and it's a lesson for what a lot of other spaces can be
maybe i've gotta play through Control again
would love to get one whenever you get a shop going
