What about the bishop on black?
Posts by Gryffydd
Oops. e5, not e6. Now I see it. Thanks.
Qe5, ...?
Be6?
A different version of the sacrifice move.
Sorry, Qd6
Kf6, ...?
I can imagine Qd7, but that doesn't result in "Mate in 4".
The puzzle is "Mate in 4", which infers that "Mate in 2" is not likely to be the solution.
The king can take the unprotected knight to escape check.
Kg6?
That is "mate in 2"
One rule for me and one rule for thee.
Black doesn't look succumbed
Why couldn't PK answer the hypothetical?
Understood
I can see getting the Knight to g6 is mate, but I can also see that Bc2 will block it. You could use the rook to block the c file, but equally the bishop can move to avoid that. I admit I can't see a solution.
I am happy to be wrong. It is the only way I will learn.
Please explain why you say this. By the king's nature it will always be two spaces behind in a chase.
Can you see a set of moves that black can make that will foil white?
Re8+, Kc7, Re7+, Kb8, Ra7, Ka7, ...
Then wander the king over to take the black pawn.
Then advance white pawn with king as protection.
I think that will work.

If this happens every week, as the host says, why would you not try to work out why and then fix it?
Have had an electric car for 2 years now and I experienced range anxiety at the beginning for one of my earlier trips, but no more. The electricity is free between 11 and 2 and 8c overnight. I don't visit petrol stations much any more. I cannot recommend enough.
Bc7
Only if black's king ran away (Ke8). There where a lot of possibilities for putting pieces in the way of the bishop (that I could imagine).
Qh8+, Ng8, Ba3+, take everything that gets in the way, Nh7+ or Qg7+, depending on the opportunity. Even if the king escapes, the material damage is excessive.
Pe4 is the only one I can see
Qe4+, Kh8, Qd4+, Kh7, Nf6+, Kh8, Ne4+, Kh7, Ng5+, ...
No more queen.
There are variations, but in all that I can imagine, black queen is gone.
If you touch the piece, you have to move it.
A beautiful set-up.
I play the perfect amount of time, although I would like to play more. I am the ideal gamer.
